fed up with this.....

Anyone who is the least bit dedicated to this sport will be chastised here and there.

LeviathanX is dead on.

When these slothy, soft, lazy, pathetic motherfuckers try to say something that makes me feel like the odd ball, I always point out that I have 18" guns and a six pack...and I could probably tap their girlfriend if I put in the effort.

And then they usually don't wanna talk to me anymore.

Mission accomplished.

I gotta say I'm lucky, coming from the other direction.

I was big and fat. after 6 months I've dropped about 40 lbs of fat, and put on at least 15 lbs of muscle. In my case, nearly everyone is supportive. I heard some crap in the beginning about 'getting too big.' But when you're working out to slim down, and it's working what can they say?

Nowadays all I hear is good stuff, and encouragement, at home, from the family, and at work. I think everyone is willing to accept the idea of 'dieting' (improved nutrition), and supplements, and even working out, in order to lose weight.

I'm in the gym first thing in the morning for 30-45 minutes of cardio, and 4 days a week in the evenings for about a 1 hour work out followed by another 20 minutes of cardio. Family, friends, and co-workers are for the most part very encouraging. It could be I'm just lucky, but I think it's because I'm trying to cut down, and not bulk up.

It's always good when friends and family are supportive.

All my friends are sporty and hence support anything to do with maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Same with my family - so no problems for me.

My wife never dreamed a year and a half ago when she gave me a Gym Membership that I would stick with going daily. Let alone get sooo into it as I have.

Now, she is constantly trying to tempt me by baking cakes and crap. It kills her to see me only eat a small piece and leave the rest to her.

I also enjoy hearing about the comments my wife overheard from her girlfriends when we went to the beach recently about the fat I'd lost and how much better I looked.

Us older folks rarely hear anything but positive.

For me the important thing is to hang out with people who are also into the gym. Most of my friends train and there's nothing we love more than to get together and talk about how our training is progressing. Each person supports one another and provides that extra bit of motivation. You don't need to hang out with people who are going to have a go at you and try to drag you down to their level. Also it's so true about overweight women questioning about why people go to the gym. I don't even bother trying to answer. I just leave it up to the individual to go away and think about it.

I'm 14, and very picky about what I eat, my mom doesn't really object to it, she finds it interesting and asks me to explain to her how my diet works, shes pretty cool...

My older brother is the only one who flames me about it. Whenever he gets pissed at me he goes "Go drink a protein shake dumbass meathead" He finds thinks that me being heavily into bbing and living a much healthier lifestyle then him is something to be made fun of...pathetic

He's always like, I'll still kick ur ass, that is until he actually came after me. I'm 5'11, 190. He's 6'3, 250. I simply ended it quickly after he got me down, picked him up, and slammed him into the wall...I think he now appreciates what I do LOL
;)

Sport is life. I devote so much time to working out. To be good at anything you have to spend a crazy amount of time doin it.

Its not a means to an end; it is the end! People think I'm crazy, but I don't care. I look good, I'll live long (and large) and I'm as happy as a lark.
