Father Versus Son

Maybe I didn't read this right. You're 30 years old, and you need your dad to pay for your 62 cent meals? Sounds like a problem to me. I'd suggest breaking into the old piggy bank, and freeing up some of that paper route money. Then, you in fact would be an adult man, and you'd get to choose your very own food. Respect is earned, so go get yourself some. I don't post on this board, but this struck me as so lame that I had to comment.

Easy there. Maybe you didn't read the entire post...

"We are sharing the same home, and we are building a business in Kuwait together. So I have to rely on him for money to purchase more food."

To the OP... perhaps it's not in your best interests to partner up with your dad if he insists on calling ALL the shots, right down to your diet, and you don't get to reap any of the rewards of your hard work... but that's kind of a different issue.

Pardon me, my father happens to control the financial aspect of our business. Obviously you think I live with daddy because i can't make it on my own? I am a US citizen, and i sacrificed a lot of things to come to the other side of the world to partner up with my father to buld a business that is about to payoff. I donated a lot of my material posessions to charity, and invested what little savings i did have to buy a $1600.00 plane ticket, and pay the balance on an autoloan I had. So please don't preach to me.

When a business is new, and things haven't started to bloom yet money can be tight. Getting my frugal father to pony up money for food in a time where I probably could postpone my goals and eat cheap is very difficult. I'd compare it to pulling teeth with tweezers.

All I really asked for was advice on things i could do or say to get my father to be more open minded about what I am trying to accomplish.

But you seem to think I'm some scrub leaching off my father who isn't self sufficient. Do you think some one would give up a $59,475 a year job to come to come to Kuwait to do that?

Thank you drive thru!

You will not win this arguement. Accept this. Let go.

It is a shame he does not share your values and goals regarding health.
Obviously he could benefit. Sadly, it will catch up with him someday.

Find a way to purchase, store and consume your own food.
Do whatever it takes.

Also ... when you post here, you'll get support and you'll get criticism.
Lashing out in anger will simply move the good people away from you ....
And the jokers will feed on you.

"PM disabled due to george spellwin spam" .... ?
This site is also a business you know.

Relax.

It's my personal experience, and I really hope it will not turn out the same way for you, that people SIMPLY don't want to change their ways...

It took me losing 30kilos to show people the correct way is the OTHER way around. When people asked me (and ohhhh, do they ask) "that is wonderful, how did you do it". Everytime I answered "eating more and going to the gym" the response was always the same "eating more?" they somehow block the part about the gym.

Think about it, it seems natural: to lose weight, you eat less calories, presto. if you want to lose fast, you eat very little.

It takes a lot of convincing to go against that logic bro, is like explaining people that white is not a color, but the sum of all colors, or that when they see a red object, they are seeing an object that absorbs ALL colors, but red.

now, simply try and go your way, show him with results and don't let him bring you down.

I was also a once-a-day eater you know...
