Fat or Carbs Preworkout?

Hey guys im on a good cutter with good results so far. I just incorporated the gym into myschedule after work, it just that my meal is around5 oclock, i hit the gym at 5:30 most of the time maybe earlier.

My question is....My 4th meal is usually Tuna, and my 5th would be ANPB. But The 5th meal is so close to my workout now. Im just confused on what to do.

Switch the 5th meal to tuna sandwich? Pre-workout? It has carbs, or leave the anpb wich is mostly fat?

I mean, i could stretch the diet times alittle maybe, causing my meal to fall after the workout? So if i did this would it be better to have the tuna or the anpb? i was thinkin, since it would be around 7 ish would it be ok to eat carbs?

Im stumped, any help?

First off ANPB by itself is not a meal. Secondly, before training you should eat low GI carbs with protein. Example is oatmeal with chicken or whey protein, along w/flax oil depending on how soon you eat the meal before training. I never eat less than hour before training. I need at least an hour or else I'll be puking... ;)

thanks!

1 more q? why dont you consider anpb a meal? 210 cals a serving is around my average meal calorie ratio...

What would you eat with the ANPB? Thanks!

Code:
so like how about 2 scoops ANPB and a glass of skim milk?
bad idea -- sugar in the skim is not good to combine with the fat in the ANPB.. Better off going fat and protein, or carb protein.. NEVER, EVER, EVER GO FAT AND CARB --- atleast not when dieting...

You need complete protein with the ANPB. Chicken and pb is good. As is red meat and PB.

First ive read many times that you shouldnt eat for an hour before and an hour after cardio and the pre cardio meal shouldnt consisnt of carbs becasue ull burn them during the cardio.

Second, Ive never heard that its bad to combine carbs and fat while dieting. What is bad about doing that?

because fat gets stored fairly easily right after taking in simple carbs. meals should be a protein/fat mix, or a protein/carb mix to prevent this

1) Many people say that you should treat cardio (HIIT) like a workout, and consume a Whey protein shake before/afterwards. I admit that when I do cardio in the morning, I do it on an empty stomach (you'll get differing opinions on this, but it's how I like to do it.) But pretty much everyone agrees that a shake or small meal afterwards is a must.

2) I'll try to make this as clear as possible: when dieting, there are two meal types you want = Protein/Fat and Protein/Carb. This is because when you eat carbs, you elevate the insulin in your body. Elevation of insulin increases the rate of transport of fats and carbs into fat cells. Initially, the insulin shuttles nutrients to your muscles; however, your muscles soon become "insulin resistant", and the rest of that fat will end up going into fat deposits in your body. I hope that's not too confusing....

Dieting like Crazy said is the easiest way to lose weight --- A big advocate of eating that ways is John Berardi! I would really recommend reading all his articles... the man is a genius and he knows how to write to those without PHDs..

I do my cardio like crazy does, in the morning, empty stomach -- fat just drops off you... It sux getting up but it really works.... Also if you are dieting i would recommend only having carbs in the form of your pre workout snack and your PW shake (after a weight workout...) on Non training days try not to have any carb meals or make it just one of your six... I had really good results doing this.... Shot down from 290 to 265 in about a month and bareley lost anything on my lifts....

i wish i could wake up i try but i cant, maybe when its nice out ill more motivation, but ateast i HIIT everyday. I also limit my carbs to my first meals of the day, Breakfast, Meal 2, and Meal 3. I have preety good results from this. After my workout in my PWOS will contain carbs but thats PWO. My meals by the end of the day are pure protien meals. Chicken/Shrimp/Red meat, etc. Absultely no carbs in the last meals at all. My diet platued in "weight loss" due to the gym, i can feel myself putting on muscle so thats ok, guess its time to rely soley on the BF caliber(oh and that makes me feel good =])

But damn 290 to 265 good work man!

It's not that you have to eat only protein/fat or protein/carbs while dieting. You have to consider the type of carbs. For example chicken, oatmeal, and flax oil is a great meal while dieting.

Howabout 1% milk with some fat? Say milk and a banana with some anpb. This is a favorite of mine. The milk digests slow and I guess wouldnt spike insulin so would bodyfat still be stored easy in this situation?

this reaLLY is really not totaly true
milk does have sugar but its a low gi sugar so it does not spike insulin as much as dextrose or malto
i would recomend a shake with protien and fast carbs immidietley after your workout then another meal and hou to an hour and a half later
anpb alone is far from a meal you need some protin \
cottage chese is a good source eggs, milk ,whey ,beef jerkey are all goood sources that can be added to anpd to make a more complete meal \
i have had good results whether cutting or bulking using a shake with whey protin and dextrose right after my workout i take 50 grams protien and at least 40 grams dextrose i use more dex if iam bulking
hope this helps
