Olive oil does not = Flaxseed oil, but you have the right idea.

Olive oil is mainly Monosaturated fats:

Health benefits of monounsaturated fat
The high consumption of olive oil in Mediterranean countries is considered to be one of the reasons why these countries have lower levels of heart disease.

Monounsaturated fat is believed to lower cholesterol and may assist in reducing heart disease. Like polyunsaturated fat it provides essential fatty acids for healthy skin and the development of body cells.

Monounsaturated fat is also believed to offer protection against certain cancers, like breast cancer and colon cancer.

Monounsaturated fats are typically high in Vitamin E, the anti-oxidant vitamin which is usually in short supply in many Western diets.

Cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, if not over-heated, provides a range of phyto-chemicals and phenols which help to boost immunity and maintain good health.

Now, Flaxseed seed oil is known for EFAs = Essential Fatty acids: linoleic and linolenic acids - they define EFAs.

Both are good for you and can aid dieting; thus I suggest a mix of the two for a healthy dieter.

lol
it is good to add a variety of beneficial fats to your diet
i used xv olive oil *
flax/linseed
seasame *
roasted peanut*
avocado
safflower *
sunflower*
hazelnut*
walnut*
wheat germ
plus take pacific salmon oil in cap form
all taste slightly different
and have different properties
but all are beneficial
some more than others but i cannot fathom taking in strictly flax oil on a daily basis long term
also there is a product call udo's choice:
2 capsules (each 1000 mg) contain: Calories 20 Polyunsaturated fat 1400 mg Supplying: Omega-3 fatty acids 920 mg Omega-6 fatty acids 460 mg Monounsaturated fat 400 mg Supplying: Omega-9 fatty acids 400 mg Saturated fat 200 mg Including: Medium chain triglycerides 38 mg
consists of oils from fresh, certified organic flax, sesame and sunflower seeds, as well as oils from evening primrose, rice germ and oat germ.
