Yeah don't feel bad. That's why I bought electronic calipers... I was told a week ago by my supposed trainer that I was 24% body fat... I about choked. My calipers said 18% yesterday... So you know I just must have lost 6% body fat in a week.... Yeah right!
Does anybody use a scale with a bodyfat measuring feature? I got one for $40 and use it daily. According to the manual, as long as your bodyfat is above 5%, the reading will be accurate. But for some reason, I just don't believe the numbers I get from it. Sometimes when I'm working out regularly, eating right and getting stronger, the readings don't support a lean tissue gain.
I don't use the body fat feature on my scale. It's new also around $60... registers me at 25% body fat. I did it for two weeks straight every morning same time right when I got out of bed. It's useless... only good for weighing. Electronic calipers are the way to go....
