egg white vs whey

I'm a skinny guy looking to bulk up and I started training two weeks ago, I know I have to consume lots of protein to develop muscle so I was wondering between egg whites and whey protein which one would you recommend the best for a rookie, thank you.

why do you need to choose between the two and why are these your only options?

if you want to bulk you need to eat more bro. just eating egg whites or drinking shakes isn't going to build mass. go to any big dude in your gym and ask him what he eats for dinner, i guarantee he doesn't say "yeah bro i go home and have some eggs whites and drink a shake"

Both are good options. It's kind of like comparing apples to orange. Why not eat both?

Don't be scared of the egg yolk. As a skinny guy looking to bulk up, you need the calories and fat in the yolk. The cholesterol is egg yolks is also very important for testosterone production. If you are worried about cholesterol - dietary cholesterol actually has very little to do with cholesterol levels in the body. Poor cholesterol levels are due to inflammation and refined carbs/sugars.

My recommendation for you would be to eat 3-4 whole eggs and 3-4 egg whites for breakfast and then use 2 scoops of whey protein post workout in a protein shake.

At this point you don't need to be this specific. To gain weight all you need to do is train while being in a caloric surplus. You need calories man. You want to get as many as you can from whole foods and use a protein supplement to fill in your nutritional gaps. Make sure you are tracking calories so you know you are in a surplus.

Egg white protein is made from… well, eggs. Because the powder is made using just the whites of the egg, it is rich in protein while being completely devoid of fat. Egg whites also contain a fair amount of micronutrients, though not nearly as much as the yolk. It’s also important to realize that allergies to egg whites are possible.
