dullboy likes to think that he knows how to train hard(core), but dullboy had the opportunity to train chest the other day with a serious bb'er.

dullboys chest hurts so bad today that he had to take some ibuprofen. lol and dullboy is no slouch. 6'2" 226 11.5% b/f. in case you care, which dullboy really hopes you don't.

What was the routine?



nothing special - everything to failure.


in this order:

flat bench barbell presses
weighted dips
close grip presses
hammer strength inclines
incline flys
decline barbell presses


that's it.


it was the tempo of the workout that was different. a very fast pace for me. i felt winded the the entire routine. he seemed to stress the importance of keeping a full blood pump in the muscle group that you're working.

i guess dullboy is better suited for the farm team. :worried:

I bet he had you training much different than you normally do. I'll train with a friend that knows his shit, but trains very differently that I do, and I'll be sore as hell. It's nice to get new,more, trainig styles to help with your progress.

I have one of those plush jobs where I can work from the gym, er.. home most of the time. There is the rare occasion where I have to be somewhere all day. On those days I hit the gym in the AM and limit myself to 30 seconds between sets. Those are ALWAYS the best days. I just can't bring myself to do it every day though. It's nice for a change once and a while.
 
Next time you do chest by yourself try doing pre-exhaustion work first ...

In bench your tri's then delts give out well before your chest does so to even the playing field do some flies to failure first so your chest is smokin and then right away sit down on the bench and see what you can do !!

You'll be suprised at what just happened ......... and shocked !!
 
every now and then i change my workout up like that and make it a more fast pace

throw in giant sets to really shock the muscle...nothing like doing a set of squats, straight into a set of leg presses and then straight to a set of leg extensions, rest about 3-4 minutes and hit it again
 
sweed thinks dullboy sounds funny talkin in 3rd person all the time. sweed wants to know what bber did u train with if u dont mind
