the thing that scares me is that i just have no idea what i want to do for a career now. and i know i should commit a few years to something, because when people dont have commitment on their resume, that looks bad!

Get a real estate license, you'll have to take a class, study, take a test and have someone hold your lic. - it's social, you can learn about different things - sales, marketing, farming, socializing for business and the best local places for lunch and you may even make some money.

It will keep you busy and may help you to spark something in yourself as to what you want to do everyday for $$$$.
