Do you pray...

Sometimes I pray and thank God I have the privilege of working out, exercising and improving myself. I consider it a privilege, not an obligation, to fight against the earth itself for the control of iron.

Nice thread.

Considering that God is the all knowing creator of our bodies, then it's a great idea to talk with Him about what we are doing to try and improve them. After all, He knows them a lot better than we ever will.

I agree with what B said about using your talents to His glory. If you are working out for the right reasons, then you will get much more out of it. Not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well.

wow... i never even thgouht about praying. I am really not religious, but I think you guys just turned me... at least for the moment. Right now, after reading those words, i feel a real connection with God. I think I will start praying before I lift now.
Thanks

Pray? Why should I pray for anything? I am responsible for everything I accomplish, not a "higher" power.

As I do not belong to the judeo-christian ethic of religion I don't pray per se. I do focus and reflect on things quite frequently. Also reciting the viking warriors prayer helps me get in the right mental focus for a big lift.

"this is the way I pray"....For me personally,that means that everyone has there own way of talking to God.....people speak through alot of different things...as cheesy as it sounds,I think alot of us pray(say thank you) through what we love to do,and one of those things for me is training.....
"I guess that I have always looked at what my gifts are as a gift from God..and if I don't use it to the max...it would be a sin. Anyone else feel this way???" I definitely agree.

Remember my sanctuary ? :)

{this is Exodus}

to my disgrace i have fallen away from GOD more recently than i would like to admit. but i do pray. sometimes i pray in formal, starting off addressing GOD like a letter, but to me that sometimes seems impersonal. so when i get real, and i belive that HE can hear me, i talk more like i do with my wife. i try to be as honest and forthcoming as possible. the only thing that gets inbetween my path of GOD is my own ego.

i prayed at the music city strongman, and i have since started back, so thanks B, for reminding a fellow believer.

Yeah I feel that. I just thank God for the opportunity to work hard, but I know that it's all on me once the bar is unracked.

Do you have proof of this God? I sure don't.
