I am currently on a 10 week OX cycle and hoping to loose as much excess BF as possible (hopefully about 30-35 pounds). I am running a keto diet and will have a carb-up day on Sundays only. My question is should I also do cardio on a keto diet? I have heard alot of people say NO because of the low carbs. WHats your opinion.

Hmm

Fat loss with no cardio???? U need to do cardio, if your in keto you will have plenty of engery from fat. If you want to lose fat and look food cardio is very important, You must be lazy if you think that a keto diet is gonna cut u up alone. You will lose weight, but you can accelarate the weight loss, and cardio is good for you. Get on the cardio ASAP

Yeah, do cardio. if you're following a standard CKD (which is weights Mon, Tue and depletion workout before carb up) you should do cardio on the non lifting days. Just do a good amount for you, don't kill yourself on it.

Cardio is important, but it takes third place to lifting and dieting, IMO. If you are eating clean and lifting regularly, you don't need much cardio, 60min/week tops. Problem is, most people have a tougher time sticking to a diet than they do with doing regular cardio. The downside to that is the catabolic effects of heavy cardio.

Yuuuup. Do too much cardio and you can waste away, making you look like a pathetic little bitch. So, don't overdo it. I fucked up on this when I was re-habbing my knee and lost some muscle.

Personally I don't think you need cardio, you just need to deplete your carb stores with high intenisty execise like weights with minmal rest between sets or interval sprints. Cardio will just make you overtrain quicker. Just something hard and intense, so you don't need to do it for longer than 15-20 mins.

Why cardio for a longer period of time when you can get better results with something short, intense and sweet?

Well it works for me anyway, but I'm extremely Fast-twitchy muscle wise, so me and cardio are allergic to each other :)
I thrive on spriniting and jumping and basicly anything explosive.

Everyone is different, so try it out either way and see how you go.

I don't think you *need* cardio, but there is an amount that will only be beneficial, and it improves vascularity bigtime for me.

hello folks

Em I'm a bit confused about cardio and energylevels while in ketosis.
Musclefibers type 2 need glucose to contract. What about the other white musclefibers. Do they glucose as well or can they work with ketones.
I mean, if I do cardio at moderate speed (pulserate around 140-150; my max is 190), what then will be burnt up? Ketones, Glucose and then in the endeffect muscles?
And further on: If ketones will be burnt, will you feel the same energylevel, as if you would be carbed up and do cardio?

Please help clearing up my mind, before I choose to do a keto like diet.
