Do the pro`s use Creatine?

Krazykat

Is creatine really that good? I even remember Paul Boressen arguing that it made you stronger but that this strength meant that since the muscle fibres were actually bigger or stronger meant that you needed more weight to do the same stimulation.

I was wondering if the pro`s use it? If they do that is some recommendation.

What effects do people get it from it, increased muscle size, better pump, anyone get better vascularity?

Opinions?

Creatine works well, I've use it for a while on and off. It makes your muscle cells increase in volume size because of the creatine drives water into the cells, so its mainly water weight. Although it make you look good in terms of the fullness of your muscles so helps your ego abit. You do experience increase in strength because of the water and more ATP is produced and utilized, therefore you lift more cos your muscles dont fatigue as quickly.

I have not experienced vascularity using creatine because of the water you are carrying in your muscles gives you a smoother bulky look.

I dont use it anymore, because I think its a waste of money. Although IMO, its good when you come off a cycle just to get that added strength and reducing the impact of crashing during your recovery.

Alot of pros use it as an added benefit because you carry water in your muscle cells it acts as a shock absorber reducing joint and tendon pressures from lifting therefore reducing you chances of getting an injury. Creatine also enhances recovery from workouts, as more water is retained in your cells creates an osmotic effect driving in nutrients, minerals, vitamins, protein and the like enhancing recovery. But it sucks when you come off creatine cos you lose water weight and feel more flat but any mass gained is kept and its yours.

Mini :)

Paul Borreson used everything and anything.

I can't see why pros would use creatine. They're already retaining gallons of water.

I think creatine is great while bulking, but I no longer use it. It just smooths me out.

Incidentally, I have tape of a Paul Borreson semminar that I can't get myself to listen to. Paul was a nut, but he was a nice guy and it's hard to hear advice from a guy whose own advice may have killed him before the age of 35.

John Brown, a former Mr. Universe used to workout in a hardcore gym I first started training at around 18 years ago called Needhams, in Anaheim, Ca. Anyway...one time I remember him saying: " If you want to be big like the big boys (aka pros)
you have to TRAIN like the big boys, EAT like the big boys and TAKE the big boys drugs. Not to sound too scarcastic but I really don`t think he was referring to supps.

IMHO, I don`t think these guys lose sleep at night wondering if they took enough creatine or whey protein. Do some use creatine ? Some Probably do, but I just don`t think its high on their list of concerns.

As far as my personal use of Creatine. I use it. Not too much though, maybe 3 to 5 grams a day for 5 out of 7 days a week.
When I first started to use it, I put on about 5 pounds, got a lil better pump and a tad more strength in the last 2 reps of a set but I have been taking it for a few years now so I am used to it and can`t really tell the difference anymore unless I stop taking for a month or two and start taking it again. IMHO to the thread starter........I would recommend you trying it.....Why not ? You have nothing to lose but a few bucks and maybe a few pounds, a better pump and a few extra reps to gain.......

Actually, thats the prime reason to use it when you are on. I know of at least 3 IFFB pros (that I know personally) that use as much as 30grams a day with the rest of their cycle.

I would like to hear more about why you say it smooths you out. That seems odd to me, I usually get much fuller and more pumped. Tell me more.....

i remember talking to bodybuilder trying to get his pro card and the same question was asked my bro-in-law and he said "why would I waste $30 on creatine when I can buy buy a bottle of test for $30" so no he didnt use creatine just used the money for roids.

i think creatine is useful only while training entirely naturally or to reduce catabolism during post cycle. if u r juicing anyway- spend ur money on the drugs instead of relying on creatine.
