Do deadlifts give you the 'bodybuilder' look?

are deadlifts...

are deadlifts where u just pick the bar up and stand straight, or is it when u pick up the bar and put it over ur head?

I have enough lower back problems as it is. It really depends on your goals really. I have no intentions of competing so it's not worth it to me to risk hurting my back even more.
I've had 2 crushed discs for years that like to put me on the floor growling in pain. The only reason I haven't had to have surgery yet is because I started doing deads. I'm now pulling 565. Deads are the best thing I've ever done for my back.

Deads are what seperates the hardcore lifters from the men's fitness models.

I totally agree, my lower back is beyond fucked, but I can still pull 550lbs for 5 reps, single over 600lbs, all with no belt and my back never hurts while doing it. It's all about good form.

If you can find one, i really reccomend using a trap bar for these. It forces you to use the correct form and will not shred your shins. If you cannot deadlift becuase of back problems, try this. Hell they only cost around $150, that's less than most of you spend on anti-e's.

Pulls (Deadlifts) provide great overall growth. If your form is solid and you know your limits there is no reason not to do them.

I agree with Icelandic--trap bars are awesome for deads. They made my form so much better and with correct form you can pull a hell of a lot more safely. Excellent for doing shrugs too.
