DNP For Women

coolcatjen said:
This is what Im most interested in and why I joined, How will I ever know what my BF% should be, every web site/ book says something different?! All I know is that Im noit happy with they way things are fitting these days and have been doing a ton of research on DNP but not seeing anything about how it works on females, ie do yoiu lose as much BF or what side effects...I work our 5 days a week and keep a low carb diet but its just not cutting it for me, I'm 5'10 1/2 and I think I should weigh around 145?! But I'm more concerned about my BF now. I'm so new to this and lost, I just got out of the Army and they have a different look at body types, any help or ideas would be greatly appriciated, especially about DNP

Hey CCJ -- just saw your first post -- suggest you start a new thread - look at the stickies at the top of the board, i.e.

Are you new to EF Women's Board - START HERE!

TOP THREADS - Great info -- MUST READ!

In your new thread can you list:

1) your stats - height, weight, bodyfat, age
2) your current diet - what you eat in a given day - specifically, e.g.

Meal 1: 8 am
1/2 c oatmeal
2 whole eggs

Meal 2: 12 noon
5 oz turkey breast
2 c salad

And then if you can go further & put your day's meal plan in a food counts program like www.fitday.com and then include in your thread what your total calories are, as well as the macronutrient break down (grams, % protein / grams, % fats / grams, % carbs). If we can see that, we can make some easy tweaks to get you where you want to go --don't forget that diet is about 80% of what will get you where you are trying to go. OR equivalently it can hinder your goals just as easily.

3) what is your current training & how long have you been training, cardio, whatever you are doing.

IMO DNP is ABOFUCKINGLUTELY NOT FOR YOU.

You just go out of the military, so I'm sure the food has had a big impact on your physique, not to the better. But if you haven't spent any time getting your diet back in order and getting some exercise, then you are just looking for a quicky fix. And if you are willing to explore putting a chemical that is made of the same stuff used in RAID bug killer, then I can't imagine why you woudln't be willing to explore some much simpler, safer & more reliable methods include changing your diet & training.

As herself discovered - 1) there's not a lot of info about DNP, esp for women, 2) it sux, 3) its not considered safe and 4) she didnt' get any miracle quicky results.

And for you - holy shit girl - you're nearly 6 ft tall & 145 lb???? I'm 5'7" and my competition weight at 8% bf is 135 lb. You're not fat. You just dont' have any muscle. You don't need to burn much fat - you NEED TO BUILD SOME MUSCLE!

If you can start a new thread we can get you heading in a productive direction w/ some basic nutrition & training. PLEASE DO NOT GET SIDETRACKED LOOKING FOR QUICKY FIXES W/ UNSAFE CHEMICALS. THERE ARE NO QUICKY FIXES.

Final stats:
Ok, so after all the water came off, the DNP really did work. I actually even managed to gain lean mass some how. Bodyfat went down from 25% to 17.5% (measured by calipers). Body weight dropped a total of 10 lbs.

However, it seriously wasn't worth it. I felt like crap, was seriously depressed, got a bad cold and lost a lot of my strength during the cycle. It's back now, and I'm actually able to lift a little heavier in some exercises. I can bench 90 lbs (dumb bells) 2 sets 8 reps per set. Before, I could only do 70-80 lbs. I also started creatine recently... and eating a ton of protein every few hours. I've upped my caloric intake to 250-300 above maint, and seen great results.

Oh, yeah, the other thing-- my veins are popping out everywhere now.

Anyway, you can get the same results, or better ones with ECA, carb cutting, and eating every few hours. DNP is not worth it.

130 pounds at 25% fat before - 97.5 pounds of lean mass

120 pounds at 17.5 % after = 99 pounds of lean mass.

So you did gain some lbm - nice.

I assume you mean you are benching 45 pound dbs - not 90's right??

don't flame me.

I tried DNP and was able to stay on for close to 3 weeks. Got the rash. it went away after using Benedryl. had carb cravings, but I I stayed true to my diet. (Ate a lot of apples, blueberries, strawberries, grapefruit.) IMO, it wasn't bad at all. I drank 2 gallons of water a day and took a boat load of antiox with it. I even worked during the day in 100 degree heat. Night sweats sucked, tho. held lots of water. Otherwise it was successful.

oh, and I did a boat load of research and asked Stick a lot of questions (:D) before I used it. I took:

glucorel
sesupure
vitamin e
vitamin c
l-taurine

at same time.

Jen, stay away from the DNP. It's not worth it. Hydroxycut Hardcore works really well, and the sides are tolerable.

low carb doesn't work for everyone.. and most people do it wrong anyway.
They think they can eat things with sugar alcohol without coming out of ketosis.

Try using a tool like gym journal (www.gymjournal.com) to track your nutrition and work out information. If you are doing low carb, it is important to manipulate the carbs you are eating to get maximum use of them, instead of storing them as fat.

What is your diet like?

Yes, 45 lb dbs. 90 lbs total.
I can do 15 pull ups now!

Damn, elf! I'd just drop it now! If you do well with ECA, why not stay with it. If you want some kickin' thermo action, you could try some T-rex. It gets you pretty heated up. I take EC minus the A with T-rex a couple times a week and do well with it. I'm also 5' 4" & 128-129 lbs. You seem to tolerate stims well, it may work for you.

Anything that makes me feel weak - per your 20% drop with the weights - is totally not worth it. Weak, hard to breathe, cravings, water retention........flush it........

Hope you start feeling better! :rose:
Thanks Scorpiogirl. I feel much better. But it took about a month. Seriously not worth it. What is T-rex?
