welcome to the club!!! you are exacly where I started. The road is long and twisty but not unmanageable... I posted how I did at the top of this page (look for the "How I lost 50lbs in 50 months...") nevertheless a couple of tips:

1. READ!!! Only by knowing what you are you doing you will be able to correctly evaluate results and take good decisions

2. BE PATIENT: You didn't get fat overnight... so it will take a bit for you to lose the fat, but it will come faster than expected!!!

3. MONITOR your progress: SUPER important: Only what can be measured can be managed

4. STICK to your program: Don't change your stuff too frequently, allow AT LEAST 8 weeks to decide whether a diet/training program is working for you.

In my experience, I saw mind-boggling results the first 4 weeks and then feel into a pattern... it was common for me to lose 10 lbs/month or more... nowadays I am down to a more reasonable 4 - 6 lbs/month.

Try and mayximize your first months since this is where you will see the biggest results
