I just started lifting and trying to get into shape. I need to come up with a good diet. I am 17 years old and 115 lbs and i am still in high school where i am not supposed to eat in class. I am also trying to lose some bodyfat. Can anyone please help with a diet. Thanks

Dude, 115lbs??? how tall are you? with that weight I wouldn't really worry about shedding fat. Follow Tiggy's advice (deja vu) on this one and once you get to a decent size, you can start to cut.

You will need to train hard and heavy, some 4 times/week, we can help you with that, however, diet is 90% or more of your results, so if you plan on hitting the gym and your diet is not in order you will be wasting your time and ours. So first things first, get the diet down to a T, then we can begin with the training.

If you can't eat in class try to snag something from yoru locker between classes. You do have a locker right? Be a few minutes late for class and chow down on some solid foods.

You feal ok at 115 lbs? I didn't think that was humanly possible at 17.

Thanks everyone for ur help. stellartiggy i am positive that i could eat those foods that u listed. ya im 115 lbs. and 5'9". I've been hitting the gym about 6 days a week doing lifting and cardio everyday. I was trying to bulk up but all i started to do was get a gut. Since im not supposed to eat in class ive just been eating a granola bar at my locker. I know this really isnt healthy but it was all i had time for. If anyone has time could u please post some meal ideas for me. Thanks

Carefull there!!! Sometimes more is not better... try not to lift more than 2-3 days in a row (hope you are not using the same muscle groups too frequently).

If you are just starting, you can try a 3-day split (MON-TUE-WED FRI-SAT-SUN) twice a week, or a 4 days split (MON-TUE THU-FRI , this is my favorite) once a week.

Point is here is to train WITH intensity... Frequency comes second hand, heavy lifting (with progressive resistance increase), is the key for this

Remember, your muscles don't grow in the gym... they grow when you are let them rest and recover... so as important as the gym is, so it is your sleep hours and your resting periods.

Stellartiggy i understand what ur saying about the diet. Thanks for posting all of that.
Heres my schedule of what i have been doing:
Monday - Back and Biceps
Tuesday - Legs and Shoulders
Wednesday - Chest and Triceps
Thursday - Back and Biceps
Friday - Legs and Shoulders
Saturday - Chest and Triceps
Sunday - Off day
Everyday ive been running on the treadmill for atleast 1.75 miles.

I don't think you need to run everyday... try cutting that down to 2-3 times/week for an easy 20-30 mins... you eat all the food to grow, not to burn in @ the threadmill... that will come later when cutting!!!

I would cut out half of that. Just do Mon, Wens, Fri with back bi, legs shoulders, chest tris.
