deads + squats?

how do i incorporate deads and sqauts into my westside routine? are deadlifts considered a max effort sqaut excersise?

also, i'm not supposed to be doing the actual movements right? No benchpressing, just boardpress, floorpress ect ect?

sorry for the newbie questions
 
Squats and deadlift as they pertain to Max effort work is pretty easy. As you know from READING...most of your max effort work should be in the form of Good Mornings. However in a 10 week cycle of ME exercises...2 weeks should be squats...and for that you will do LOW BOX SQUATS...with a box that is 3-4" below the box that you use for Dynamic Work. As far as Deadlifts...out of the same 10 week cycle of exercises 1 or 2 at most would be a Deadlift variation such as a rack pull or a reverse band deadlift. Deadlifts will not build your strength...they serve more to test your strength.

The Dynamic work is alot easier to figure out. Box squat every Friday...just like you READ in the articles. And if you want to pull more often than the 1-2 weeks out of 10 then pull 5-6 singles at 60% of your 1RM every other week following box squats.
