Deadlifting after squats.

Guys, I have started a new power lifting routine that involves performing the big 3 lifts 3 x per week (mon, wed, and fri) in a 3x3 rep/set scheme. The order is bench press, squats and then deadlifts. It was my first day today & I have dropped 10kg on my max deadlift; this I would expect since I am having to perform them after a squat session.

My question is: will deadlifting less weight because of this routine sacrifice making better progress on the deadlift?

BB, I replied on the PL board, but I will paste it here too:

How long have you been doing that? I am not familiar with your routine, so I don't really feel like I can answer the question. I would be interested in updates on how well this program works for you, though.

Can you tell me more about it?

A regimen like that is just so alien to me, since I never max out a full ROM, and I only do the three lifts for max effort back to back AT a comp. I'm curious...

Hmmm...I never ever liked programs like this...

Why bench, squat, then dead? Just curious... Most powerlifting meets squat, bench, dead...

NEVER expect to train the core lifts (the most compound ones too...use the most muscles/joints) intensely 3x per week and progress in them...

I think the strain on your cns would cause you to overtrain fast, and it even stated they did partial movements. Also with PL'ing the equipment you use causes un-natural weak/strong points that seperate movements would be needed to overcome. Not that it won't work, the Soviets still kick our ass at Ol'lifting but they also combine perfect nutrition and recovery with people backing up the athletes. There is a reason why Simmons changed some stuff and that was to keep the fast gains and prolong the athletes lifting career. Try it if you want, it might work well enough but I'll stay Westside for now.

I've used programs like this... and I found they seriously hampered gains... and they were generally suggested by coaches that didn't have strong weight training backgrounds.

Now adays I don't do ANY bodypart following another exercise that would weaken it. (i.e., like I don't train back... then train biceps the same day... because my biceps has already been weakened by working back.)

I've found that this allows me to make maximum gains by being able to handle maximum loads.
