Crushing Triceps and Chest through shoulder tendonitis

viciousness

New member
So it finally happend bros, The days of 235 military press caught up to me.. i wont bitch here but let me tell you any above the head movement or pushing forward like chest i feel a nice little pinch/aligator plier action in my front rotator..

This is where i need help and for real. I stopped doin skull crushers cause those fuckin lock my shoulder and destroy it.... and chest has come to a minimum im db pressing 35 40's like a fuckin faygala :( anyone that ever had shoulder tendonitis can offer some movements that dont stress them as much?, I realize any movement will stress it alittle bit but i'd like to build my triceps more as there lacking and always have been for my frame. I have no problem building the outer head thats the horseshoe but the back head with mass is just not growing especially after this going lighter then normal cause the injury. Help would be appreciated, I have noone else to turn to but you guys

working with injuries sucks bro. ive been dealing with alot of tendon ain in the elbows, and back problems. for tris id say do some seated one arm extensions or some cable pushdowns

SERIOUSLY - Go and see an osteopath or an ART practitioner before you write yourself off or consider any kind of other medical treatment.

osteopath? i saw an ortho and after xrays and telling me i had a "blister on my tendon??" i was offered a handshake and told only to do curls... yeah, right buddy. i wanted to tell this fucker not even a cortisone shot? no painkillers , anti inflams? muscle relaxers? just do curls.. i just figure dont push thru pain but find some movements that will work and are pain free-ish

OK Im not sure how well this will work, start light because it may be just as painful as a normal benchpress or possibly worse but you could try this for chest, shoulders and tri's (although not really major chest involvement when compared with regular db presses). Basically its a flat DB benchpress, but instead of having your arms out wide, or slightly tucked or whatever you want your hands to be in a neutral grip position, and you want to tuck your arms right in so that in the bottom position your elbows/upper arms are touching your sides. Do you know what I mean?

Im not a doctor nor do I have any qualifications, I dont have any first hand experience in shoulder tendonitis...

Its just a thought but this position reduces the stretch of the pecs and prevents excessive rubbing at the anterior shoulder.

Again Im not sure how well this will work...

well screw that guy and see an osteo

Hey bro, this has worked for me an it may for you.
Put your bench at a slight incline, like 20° or so. Set some kind of stops, (I use sawhorses) so that at the bottom position your elbows are not lower then your back.
Do a nice slow warm up with just the bar, and work your weight up. This has allowed me to continue to bench. Good luck bro!

a "blister on the tendon" would seem like a bursitis more than tendonitis. its when the tendons roll over each other and the natural secretion of oil between them is dried out. time off is all that will really help. ART will speed up the recovery.
