Crosstraining Shoes....I need them!

My running shoes have caused problems (ankle rolls) for me when I'm doing my kickboxing thing...I like to work the carpet!

If you're working off of mats; if you're working off of polished wood floors, your feet get torn up.

at first, then you end up with massively thick skin on your feet, that takes care of the problem. But maybe nonerz doesn't want that, I can understand why!

Must work off a different type of wood floor than I do -- or have a greater affinity for massively thick skin on your feet (or, I could be heavier on my feet) :)

I refuse to practice in shoes though. Sometimes, if I'm too torn up, I'll slip on socks -- but that can get dangerous as far as slipping.

Either way, I like mats (and bare feet) better -- get more rolling time.

mats sound like fun...at 24 hr Fitness, you have to wear shoes in the kickboxing class. Plus the carpet is old and nasty...don't want any fungi or anything else that could "grow" on me!

Most of the kickboxing classes we do are on the hard floor and you have to wear shoes/hand wraps -- occasionally we get to do it in the martial arts studio (where the mats are) though; my wife and I also practice Phillipino MMA (nice way to spend time together), which is where the bare foot time comes from ...
