creatine face bloating

Why am I experiencing face bloating since I started taking creatine, is it causing me water retention or do I need to like cut down on my salt intake while I'm on it?

Are you loading the creatine? What is your dosage?

There is a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to creatine supplementation. There is no need to load or cycle creatine. Supplement with 5-10g per day.

Lower your dosage and you will start to feel better in a few days.

The only reason supplement companies recommend creatine cycles and tell you to load creatine is to make the product sound steroid like and make it seem really hardcore.

The bloating you are experiencing might also be from artificial flavours, colors or sweeteners. Stick with a pure creatine monohydrate powder or a capsulated creatine product like ancient strength from n2bm.com.

powdered creatines contain sweeteners, dyes, and fillers.. these could be easily bloating you up

but it also could be you are using too much

i would get capped creatine that is pure and run it at a proper dosage. n2bm sells a product called ancient strength and you won't bloat on it

Could be both. If you dose creatine 5-10g per day than it should not cause bloating. If it does - its not the creatine but something else.

Good points above. Make sure your product is a pure creatine, dose only 5g per day, drink at least a gallon of water each day, and watch your sodium intake. Get those under control and you are good to go.
