musclemass22

New member
9:00--5 ew/1whole, 1/2 c oats
Train
11:30--2 scps whey, 1 c oats, 1 can tuna

2:30--Salad, 2 cans tuna, 1tblspn flax oil

5:30-- 1 c Brown Rice/1 can tuna

8:30--Myoplex

11:30 5 oz chix, 1 1/2 c broccoli, 1 tblspn flx

I calculated it at right about 2600 cal. down from my usual 3100. I also eat chicken most of the time but did not have time to cook a big batch today, so ate 4 cans of tuna:( I know I should probably cut out the myoplex but it is so convenient for work. Any suggestions or ideas would be great. 3rd show, 5"8, 175 lbs. I did the last 2 at 163lbs

How far out from your show?

If you are like 6-8 weeks out, I'd definitely start moving towards more real food. Def toss the myoplex. More veggies too.

If you don't know the protein / fat / carb break down I'd suggest sticking the diet into fitday.com or another food counts program. Make sure you are gettingn on the order of 1.2 - 1.5 g protein / your weight to make sure you aren't sacrificing muscle.

I guess not knowing how far out you are or your current stats / progress, hard to say. Dont' know if you need to start cutting via carb rotation or whatever.

How'd you do in your first 2 shows?

I am about 7 weeks out now. I think I am going to cut the myoplex out at 4 wks. What king of cycling do you suggest. I cycled on the 2nd show and I lost tons of muscle and looked like shit. I may have been going to low though. I was eating like 25-40 carbs on the low days. Maybe I should go down to like 100 on the low days, what do you think? I won the novice and 2nd in the open in 1st show. Placed 5th out of 9 in Midwest show. Any suggestions appreciated

One thing I would do is ditch the tuna. It's not a complete protien. You could replace it with ground turkey or chicken. You can have a fish oil cap with your meals to get your omega's. 25-40g of carbs a day is too low you'll be flat as a pancake. 100 on a low carb day is plenty low enough. You could also fat cycle where you have 2-3 higher fat days followed by 2-3 low fat days. Is there a welterweight class in your show or are planning on going in as a middleweight? You should have plenty of time to get down so don't panic. Can you post some recent pics?

One more thing that will make a difference with the diet. Are you running any gear or doing this clean?

These are natural shows but have ran gear a few times in the past. am going to buy a scanner here shortly so I post some of the pics. I did not know that tuna was an incomplete protein? You guys are killing all my convenient meals though. Already cooking all the time. I am about 5 1/2 wks out now and can already tell that I am going to look better than the last show. Been cycling a bit with about 80-175g carbs. Thx for the help. Oh yeah you guys have any thoughts on crysatl light? I saw the thread on it. I have been drinking quite a bit lately.

Crystal Light= God send! You need some flavor with the bland diet. You should cut it out at 2 weeks out though. Sorry about the meals but it's a bitch getting ready for a show. What's your target weight? I've competed for years drug free and am only now looking to go in the other direction so anything I can help you with let me know. :)

I did the first show at 163, 2nd at 165. I am right about 170 right now--Would like to go in about 167. I am only 5'7"
Yeah tried crystal light for 1st time ever like 2 wks ago and it is a savior. Why is tuna an incomplete protein. It's fish and fish is a complete protein, is it not?
Where you from and what natural shows have you done?

Tuna does not have all the essental amino acids that your body can't make on it's own. Flounder is a good choice. during the last two to three weeks you should eat flounder or talapia alone with no carbs for your last meal. It will help clear out your digestive tract and reduce you stomach bloat.

I agree.

During my contest prep I always inlcude egg whites. Either scrambled, pouched or boiled. Excellent source of protein, with almost all of being utilized by the body, and absolute zero carbs.

What more can we ask for!!!!

Good luck!
