I'D RATHER BE DEADLIFTING

For someone who still has a lot of work to do on his triceps, would he be better off starting with a poly or a single denim? I have a weak bench and am working hard on my triceps now. I plan on hitting a 1.5xbw bench if I decide to max raw in like mid-December(not a competition). Any tips? Also, would it depend on the size of the lifter?
