Colstreamer's journey to be The Best of The Best

Nuthin at all wrong with Karate bro.
Was a 3rd Dan in Okinawan Shoryin Rhu in my glory dayz.
Very few could best me in any full contact match. Prob was that in Okinawan we were never taught to pull punches or kicks. So got disqualified more then once....
But the Okinawan is not Do, rather ture combat. Lots of fun.

Right on!! Ya im sure you surprise some guys with it. lol i was a 3 degree in karate... yah i know karate, but damn Danielson was a pimp back in the 80's. :supercool

I've done shotokan and wado ryu karate, never graded but was still good training.

Yeah much as I love Jackie Chan he's no Mr Miyagi. The new karate kid wasn't all that IMO.

The Taekwondo my brother and I do bears no resemblance to what I see these days.
Interesting thing, when my brother and I started TKD it was semi contact but that just meant you couldn't win by KO. Generally the higher the level you were fighting at the harder the contact, black belt national level was practically full contact. But then they started cracking down in the contact at all levels so we switched to FC kickboxing & boxing.

Semi contact had its place, it's ideal for beginners who need to be able to get in the ring and practice their sparring without getting hammered so they lose confidence and quit. But as the level increases so does the contact and the transition is nice and smooth cos it's been built up to.

Yah I only watch the old ones, the new ones suck.

I've got alot of respect for Karate. Was there for year teaching 7th Dan. He could take 2 beer caps put them together an fold them with his thumb and index finger. When i was younger i was "No you didn't, OMG!" That being said he was amazing to watch in tournaments even when he was that old.
Yah there's so many styles out there my uncle in-laws are from korea and have dojo's here and say its so different they are old school.

Movie martial artists I like include (Bruce Lee isn't on the list cos that'd be like "duh") Mark Dacascos, Wesley Snipes, Jackie Chan, Micah Brock (if you don't know this guy you gotta see his shit), Philip & Simon Rhee, Chloe Bruce and JC Van Damne although he's only any good when he's directed well.

Problem with martial arts movies these days is its easier to make an actor look like he can fight than it is to get a martial artists to act. So we get people like Keanu Reeves, Tom Hardy and others being given 6 months training then attached to wires and presto, Bruce Lee eat your heart out. Although it must be said, Bruce was very against the "mystification" of martial arts in these films like crouching wanker hidden bullshit where people are seen doing super human stuff.

Yah those guys are wicked checked out a few names i haven't heard of. Growing up in the 80's i'm partial to guys like JCVD,Segal "love the arm breaks and tosses guys like they're 10lbs", best all-time is MR.Bruce Lee yes he deserves a MR. On the otherhand i cant watch any Chuck Norris movies anymore because i just have a huge smile on and laugh at the stupidest things and end up having to stop watching cause i get cheek cramps. One guy that isn't in you picks is Yuri Boyka, check him out if you don't know.

Lol, bro "Yuri Boyka" is a character in undisputed 2 & 3! The actor is Scott Adkins, a British martial artist & actor! He's done a few soap operas over here, I think the undisputed films were his big break so to speak. :)

I always forget his real name and only remember his name from undisputed lol.

Loving the baby powder kicks in the flick. nice clip.

Today's WO
Chest - I was gonna do kegs in Monday's but as I'm now kickboxing Monday's I'm gonna save legs for Tuesday otherwise I'll be kicking with dead legs!

1x15 @ 60kg + 3 clap press ups
3x10 @ 60kg + 3x3 clap press ups - ate floor on last clap press up!

Felt nauseous after I'd finished... Didn't puke though lol!!!

Looking bloody incredible CS , well done for not hurling!! Lmfao ;)

How much of a difference is between narrow and shoulder width dips for chest and tri development?. I can't do the narrow cause it feels like my shoulders are going to pop off, but at shoulder width it feels great and i can do a shit load.

Wide grip dips are GREAT for chest development. IMO its the best exercise for the pecs, better than bench pressing. If you can grip the bars so that your palms are outward (yeah sounds awkward) and arch your back with your legs and feet forward you can really isolate those chest muscles.

Kickboxing.
20 mins warm up pad work and drills.
40 mins set theme sparring - this is sparring with restrictions just hands, or just one side like left leg left hand or even lead leg back hand etc... Lol as most kickboxers are mediocre boxers whenever it's "hands only" whoever is paired with me shits themselves
What can I say? When I box I float like a butterfly and sting like VD!
25 mins sparring (6x2 min rounds) luckily for me the French boys were there tonight. They're always good to spar with!
5 min circuit to finish and then stretching!

Totally shagged and my left shin is SORE! My boy Freddie was hammering at it!

It was hard D. Do dips before press ups and they turn into a seriously gruelling exercise, especially if you're doing slow controlled reps!

Yup that's exactly how i do them, i lock everything up and look like a POW it's the only way to isolate. Just a ? CS, how much total cardio in a week including kickboxing in your routine?

About 4-4.5 hours total 3 hours kickboxing (split in 2 sessions per week- sorry for the confusion Stero) 2-3x 30 min sessions on stationary bike or heavy bag work and Saturday morning sprints (new).

This is a lot of cardio for me, usually it'd just be kickboxing training 1x per week and some heavy bag work but I'm training for a fight.

Got a bit of a shock Nast night, after training I stepped on the scales at the gym expecting to see myself just a few kg lighter but instead they were reading 95kg!!!! That's like a 20lbs drop!

I rechecked it this morning at my usual gym where I lift and sure enough I was 102kg! Phew! I haven't lost a shit ton of muscle I'm still rocking nearly 200lbs lean body mass. Happy days! :)

Holy shit a 3hr session I would be dead bro!

Lol it's 2x1.5 hour sessions bro :) I just lumped it together for the total. Although squad training for the GB team is 6 hours but you get food breaks!

Scales lie anyway, I would rely on either pics or the mirror, bur! even some morrors lie, I have one in my bathroom that shows the true me, and one at my gym that makes me look bigger, but! it's a good ego boost!

Ok a short sweet workout today. I had to wait for the squat rack so that ate up some time. And I had to go get my straps to do front squats.. I will also say my legs are fatigued from last nights kickboxing :)

Nice looking leg routine bro. Good on the Ft Squats!

Nice looking leg routine bro. Good on the Ft Squats!

Thanks bro :)
I did get a bit ambitious on the front squats, tried for sets of 20 but damn were they hard today!

Aaah shitfcukpissdamnhell!!! I haven't had a fag since Sunday and I'm clucking!!!!! I just hope I can get to the gym and take it out on the weights before I take it out in one of these annoying fcuks I work with!!!!!

Fag = cigarette to avoid any transatlantic misunderstanding!

Oh joy! I did bag work today, 3 mins warm up. 3 mins max effort, 5 mins easy pace 1 min rest - repeated 4 times and I was coughing my guts up the whole time! I only ever cough when I QUIT smoking!

Kicked the living shit outa the bag though, till I was seeing stars! Now I'm too knackered to be irritable! :)

Lol! That's a mate of mine that is!

I know what you mean bro but it's all fantasy. Real fights are boring to watch, apart form boxing matches that is. I even find kickboxing and MMA bouts uninteresting as spectator sports. Well MMA more so than kickboxing prolly cos I kickbox myself but I still prefer good old fashioned straight up boxing.

I've actually got a script for a short film I want to make when I've got more time. It's intended to be gritty and brutally realistic, exposing all the flaws in sports martial arts when used on the cobbles in the pavement arena!

I do like Muay Thia as a spectator sport tho. But agree with you on the reat.
Hey I just wanted to say that your doing a hell of a job bro. I wanna see some dam pics tho!
Be sure you dont overtrain bro. Now is a gr8 time to bring in some LSD (long slow distance) on the bike. While your doing this cut back just a little bit on your other training. Dont wanna see you get stale. Do this for like 2 weeks then go back to SUPERMAX KTS.
You reall yneed to sit back and plan out all of your trainning. You are at the point that every session needs to be exactly what your body needs with no extra or you run the chance fizzling out.
I also think that you should be incorporating some Met Cons in your cardio trainnig too bro. That would be an excellent change up for you. Think about it and let me know.

YES!! I'd forgotten about the MetCon! That'd be great for me now! It'll really bump up anaerobic endurance, I was planning on doing some bike work in the evenings next week, 30-45 mins sound ok?

I wanna float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Not float like the Hindenburg and sting like VD!

Bro I actually made a fair bit of cash in Bangkok betting on Muay Thai (cant go to thailand without seeing some MT especially if you're training!). I'd place my bet halfway through the first round, the odds aren't so good but you get a feel for the fighters. I didn't lose a single bet! :D

The guy in that clip Micah, did a pro fight in Thailand KO on round 2 I believe. ;)

Good on the Met Cons.
Nay bro I mean time for you to harden your heart as the Tour De France guyz say. You need an hour- and hour and a half long slow steady work on the bike. This is endurance training for your heart. You have the high intensity all good now. So time for a big change for you man.

I wanna float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Not float like the Hindenburg and sting like VD!
LMAO yeah that cracked me the first time I read it but I just thought your sense of humor.:artist:

I wish bro. The same for me, it was long before DVDs wer out.
Just some little more believable movies.

Ah cool, I'd love to see em.

I gotta say, fight choreography on Brit films is often more realistic than Hollywood movies.. Just IMO ...

Agree!
And the Asian films are the very worst by far.

Agree!
And the Asian films are the very worst by far.

I agree with the exception of Bruce Lee's films. I loved em all, Enter the Dragon being my least favourite. "you have dishonoured my family and you have dishonoured the shaking temple" - worst Lee line EVER!

Ok I skipped kickboxing last night, I was bloody shattered, I went home, had dinner showered and straight to beddy bies. Feeling much better today, gonna hit back later then Saturday will either be some sprints or a long ass cycle ride....

^^ good to hear bro, unfortunately I had to do some banking today and the only time I get is lunchtime when I'd usually go to the gym :(

Pics!!!

I'll have pics up by the end of next week I promise!

Gonna hold you to it bro!

Didn't have time for deadlifts. Damn it was HOT! Air con still ain't fixed so we wedged the door open to get a bit of cool air. Still damn hot in there though. The smell of sweat was thick in the air and everyone was sweating like it was goin out of fashion!

Been in the high ninety here where I live, that would be from 35°C - 37.77°C.
Thats just how I like it. However my poor wife just dies.....

If its not humid, put a wet towel over the fan bro. Evaporation cooling!
On the air out side....LOL

I like it around 15 deg C. With no rain. Anything else and I sweat like a whore in church.

Hey bro on your back day would be an awsome place to High Pulls from a hang position. This is a gr8 excersize for fighters. Excellent for arms, delts and traps. Also hits lower legs and quads, even glutes to some extend. The entire posterior chain. Do reps of 8-10 for 3-5 sets. You will see that this also gr8 for endurance.
Good luck bro.

Ok bro, but what are high pulls from a hang position? I'm not familiar with that exercise.

Ive been looking on YT for a good demo of it and really have not seen any. Its hard to beat Chad and his explanations. The photos are a good representation of how it really should look. Be soft on your feet and your feet dont leave the floor.

Thanks for that Zed, I'll check it out as soon as I've got a wifi connection.

I'm fcuked! They put me through my paces tonight. 6x2 min rounds on the trot! Third round was cut short as I put an end to my opponent with a body punch!
Seriously though, all that sparring after circuits in this heat!

Go get em KILLA!

British champs in 6 weeks!
World champs in 13 weeks!

More sparring on Thursday.

Training with my mate Freddie Saturday

Tearing it up in the gym mon-fri!

Oh and I'm gonna do 60-90 mins on the bike after work tomorrow and Wednesday!

Also as I won't be able to use the gym at work after I quit, I'll be going about checkin some other gyms. Got a mate from works trains at metroflex in SE London another bro I met here on EF who trains at pumping iron in North London and then there's muscleworks in East London to go check out as well.

I'll be choosing the one with the most hardcore members and the least machines. Fuck, if there was a room with squat racks, benches, iron and a smith machine to hang my towel on that'd be me!

To the body ROCK!!! Right on i love seeing fights stopped with body punches or leg/LIVA kicks. lol Oh Bas you piece of work.

Sounds good on the gym bro. Too bad you have to move on from the one your at, but who knows...may just find exactly what your looking for out there somewhere.
Good luck bro.
Nice on the 60-90 min bike too bro! HR 103-150 range.

Guys I didn't train at all yesterday and today I'm not even at work. I got some kind of flu bug or something so I'm takin some time to just rest.

Dude youve been pushing yourself to the max. That is good but it also means that you have been putting stress on yourself too. Take the rest, apparently your bod needs it. Enjoy!

Yep agreed CS rest up buddy. This all catches up with you eventually. Hope your feeling better soon ;)

Hey bro somewhere you put up a pic of a bunch of big guys with the caption "Ok who stole your bike" or something to that effect. Could you plz link me to that?
Thanks bro.

Thanks bro, love that line up.

Yeah! Now there's a kid who ain't bullshitting when he tells the other kids "my dad's bigger than yours" :D

Right in all seriousness, I've been off work most of the week. I'm stuck in bed sweating my bollocks off trying to burn out this bug. I sweat under the blanket or shiver without it! So I'm cranking up the heat and drinking copious quantities of lemon and honey with some paracetamol every few hours. :(

Bank holiday weekend this weekend, Queen's jubilee and I'm ill!

seriouslyfuckingpissedoff.com

On the plus side I'm now undisputed world champ in 2 weight categories in video game boxing!

LOL so now your a virtual bad ass...
If you feel up to it get on the bike and just go gently for 45 min to an hour. But I mean gently, that will help you sweat it out and get fresh air into your lungs and blood.
Hope you feel better soon bro.
Best regards.

I'll see if I'm up for a walk tomorrow. I think that's the best I can hope for at the moment. :(

Ok all good bro. Not too much just what you feel like.

Hey Buddy, I'm sorry to hear your ill, hope your feeling better soon ;) :)

Well I'm feeling a bit better, went for a walk along the river to see the Queen's diamond jubilee pageant. Lots of boats, lots of union flags, lots of people getting rained on! :D

Oh that sounds fun...the getting rained on part...lovley weather there huh?

Well it WAS lovely last week and the week before that but it changed just in time for the celebrations! Felt sorry for the guards standing out there in soggy bearskins! :D

I'll also get pics of those young ladies I took out the other week :D

All these health groups in their TV adverts never talk about the disadvantages of quitting smoking.

Like not having a lighter in your pocket when you feel a huge fart coming on.
