Coffee

Your not living up to the stereotype!!! If your a paramedic married to a police officer you are supposed to LIVE next door to D&D lol.

The funny thing is: I have never seen a cop eat a donut in real life. When I was brand new in the emergency world, I was kinda curious about it. Because of the stereotype, donuts are a big no-no. They act funny if u even bring it up. They eat tons of other bad shit to make up for it,lol. I think they really miss the donuts.

I will usually drink whatever they have at work. I am a nondiscriminatory coffee drinker. I actually want to try that Meth Coffee. If the shit is called METH I would think that it would give you that nice cranked out creep everyone desires in the morning.

12 bucks for a 10 oz. bag? I'd better be able to load it up in a pipe and smoke it.

Yeah maybe in a smller town, but we have a Krispy Cream and Subway right next to each other and the SPD cops are always at the Subway. Maybe they just part there and walk over to the Krispy Cream. :p

I had a WSP for a neighbor, he was a cool guy. I would have him play a trick on a friend and go pull him over down the street before he got to my house. We took him camping and climbing once, he was kind of clueless. We where stoned 90% of the time and I don't think he knew. We also hot boxed our tent with his dog in there, his dog was waaasted lol.

We are small here(only around 110,000) but we have a gazillion Subway and Krispy Cream spots. All EMS workers get half price at subway.

EMS is always hanging out at grocery stores. Usually two guys and one girl, standard issue.

Yea, we run in packs.
Sometimes we are at a grocery store. Sometimes Walmart or a gas station. We just try to find parking lots with the least traffic but close enough to coffee and a restroom.

Honest question:

Do you EMS folks just kinda hang out all day waiting for a call? Are there days when absolutely nothing happens and you are bored out of your mind?

If u work for a small town service, u spend tons of time doing nothing.
I don't work in a huge city but we are always seriously understaffed. If we get time to sit, it's usually around 2-4am. We usually have between 2-4(depending on if people show up for work) ambulances for a city of over 110,000. Not nearly enough ambulances. We have highways on all 4 sides of the city(lots of wrecks). Plus, most of the population need ambulances a lot. We aren't a big city but our rates are amoung the top(per population %) for meth houses, black on black crime and nursing homes. I grew up in Kansas City(5 times the population as Independence) and was shocked by what this place was like. I thought it would have a small town feel. I was wrong.
