Progress is amazing to say the least! :) Great job CK. I knew you'd do good.

And best of luck with the interviews too. :)

The interviews SUCKED! First one, she said I need experience, well duh!!! They saw from my resume I had none, what was I supposed to pull some out of my ass, but she said to practice welding with my husband and call her back. The position was for a welder helper, a person who helps a welder (pretty much hand them rods) what other experience do a fucking need.

Next place: Was for a welding apprentice position sooo the fucking advertisement said. I get there and it is a fucking chop shop and he said "Oh we have enough welders here but you can be a get this..... a fucking metal carpentar, what the fuck is a metal carpentar??? It is a person that takes pieces of metal and bolts them together, for how much money???? 14 bucks an hour. Then he has the fucking nerve to say to me "you know you are going to get dirty", AAHHHHHHH

Then my mother in law, bless her fucking heart (no really I do love her) but she says to me "why don't you become a teller, a fucking bank teller??????

My fucking goal now is to either apprentice in carpentry or welding and some way some fucking how I will do it, then I am going to go to the apprentice board and every other fucking company that won't hire a person because she is a fucking woman and educate them on the fact that there are people here that want to work and are willing to get fucking "Dirty" to get the fucking job done, and if a man doesn't have to go to a fucking pre-trade school to fucking apprentice then why should I????

Kay I am (well I a might as well say it again) fucking done.

and I have another interview tomorrow.

Now I am going to the gym.

Oh no!! I'm so sorry the interviews went so shitty! Double standards suck donkey balls! Maybe tomorrow will be better. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Sorry they didn't go good, ck. There is amazing double standards in industry when it comes to women. A couple women I went to trade school with got railroaded out because they were women & the old Millwrights in the factories were out to prove they couldn't hack it. Their loss, 'cause the one woman was just about one of the smartest people I'd ever met.
It's gonna be tough, but the younger tradesmen are generally more accepting of women.
Stick with it, and good luck tomorrow.

take your welding helmet & gloves with you...."I'm ready to start now." You should get one of the specialty helmets like this: http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/weldingdepot/3011005.html

My ex that passed away earlier this year worked in a welding supply store for the entire time we were together 12+ yrs. ;)

I must publicly apologize for those, I can't say them outloud with all my rug rats around.

Good morning, CK!! Good luck at your interview today. If they're gigantic douchewads again, should should give 'em one of these: :doublefi: hehe

Sounds like the interviews went well :lmao:
I would tell them what experience you do have with welding... Let them know what other factors you can contribute to their company. Tell them you are a hard worker, you are organized, on time, meticulous, etc.. Any extra skills that you can bring to the table.. like book keeping, or clear driving record, or computer skills (obviously you have), teaching or traing you have doen in the past, ANYthing and everything why you can add to their company to make it 'more complete' and better to have you work for them.. You kinda have to sell yourself even if you don't technically fit the position you read what they are looking for and you craft what you are going to say as to what you can provide and why you can provide it better then anyone else they may have in mind to hire.... Etc...
Interviews go much better if you sit down and figure out what they want, answer everything they want in an ad, figure out how to negotiate salary, benefits, sign on bonus, gas for traveling, etc... You just have to play the game. I have never been turned away in a interview. You have to go in with confidence and a firm handshake and let them know you are the person they have been dreaming about.... I mean half the time once you get gired you won't be doing exactly what they say anyway, and they'll have to give you some sort of OJT... Don't let them no you are desperate for a job either. Always leave without accepting the offer but let them know you will get back to them with 24-48 hours with an answer that you need to talk it over with your husband. That's how you get salary increases. They will always low-ball you, but if you have done your homework as to what the cost of living is in the area, and what the going rate for a job in taht area is, then when you call them back you can say " I appreciate the offer and your time and after further discussing the position with my husband and paying for day care, looking at the average pay rates and statistics in the area (list the websites for them where you did your search) we feel that X may be a more suitabe salary." Then you can also say stuff if they are unwilling to budge to have a 3 month review so you can get a raise.. rather then waiting a year.
Ohh and always have a nice little paragraph memorized because this is my favorite questions they always ask:
Tell me about a time when a tough decision arose and how you handled it?
Tell me about a time in which you were recognized by a past employer?

Good luck;)

What's hubby sick with? Why'd he quit? I've had to quit once or twice. Once I should've quit & left it too long, 'til I got fired.

He just has the flu. As far as why he quit, well it was a long time coming to... and a lot of other reasons leading up to today....but he doesn't exactly have another job. I am worried cause well the famous quote "expect the worse... blah blah blah" but I am also not worried cause a lot of work out there for him. But we truly want him to find something that is in town.

Good Morning

Camping today still, you would think we should be looking for a job but hey what they hec :)

August 6

We had that interview yesterday it went farely well, I was pleasantly surprized, now it is just a question of wages. He is phoning us today to let us know. Hubby has another interview on Tuesday.

Camping was great, it was a good stress reliever, we are still a little worried, but we do firmly believe everything happens for a reason.

I almost quit the competition, but nope, too close to quit now. But it is expensive after membership fees, tickets, suits, trainer fees, all the extras that go along with making yourself look pretty.

today will either be waterpark (can't find a babysitter for girls) or legs/shoulders/cardio)

Morning hun!!! HOpe you have a wonderful day
Glad to hear that you ARE NOT quitting the competition though, I thought I was gonna have to come up there and :velvett: and :smash: ya (basically lay the smack down hehe)

:lmao: :FRlol:

Just kiddin!!!!!!

Spent another day at the beach, it was fun especially cause it wasn't too hot, waterpark tomorrow now.

Abs tonight, and that is about it. The waterpark is HUGE so I will be doing stairs all day long, so much fun, weeeee.

The guy that was supposed to phone about the jobs never did, how rude! At least have the balls to say no, he is now on holidays for 2 weeks, so one can only assume didn't get the job, but I guess you should assume nothing, blah, blah blah.

As far as eating, arrrr

m1
2 eggs

m2
can o salmon
carrots

m3
peanut butter and jelly jelly sandwich on white bread
piece of cheese

I am guessing I should eat some more, but I am not very hungry, hmmmm, go from eating the enitire fridge, kids had to stay away from me, they weren't even safe LOL to not hungry at all. I am guessing I will get my hunger back tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Were you hyperextending your back??
I have a bad back and find it easier to do them on the ball because the surface is not as hard and forms more to the body.... Could be positioning on your part?! Just a thought.
Hop eyou have a great day today ;)

Thank you CK for being so awesome. :) Going for a walk later tonight for ya ;) Clear skies , no thunder :)

*POOF*

treil - I know what bicycles are, been doing them, but what are flutter kicks???

Scorp - no more marshmellows but at the waterpark I had a chicken burger (it was the best choice there) my tummy no likes! but the waterpark was AWESOME!!!! huge workout, 20 slides and very high up, all stairs. Then they had a wave pool, I got kicked in the head so many times but we got to spend some one on one with the boys.

Bunny -excellent, I hope you have a wonderful walk! and thank you

Well tomorrow is trainer day!!!! new program, hopefully new diet and new posing, I am getting much better at the front bicep and relaxed poses. I don't look like I have to crap my pants anymore, so maybe some head shots with the next poses I learn, be afraid be very afraid!!! muahhhhh

ps.. today was the first day ever I wore a bikini in public! my hubby said some guy was checking me out, tripped over his kid and almost did a face plant, sad thing was his wife was beside him, but it gave my hubby a good laugh. I was quite hubbled by that.

Yup its coming, 500 resumes sent out and not one phone call. The guy that interviewed us was supposed to phone yesterday to give us a yes or no, but he nevered did, which I think is really rude.

I am glad you day was good! faxing more resumes as I type, I am also interested in heavy duty mechanic now  :)

Good morning, CK!! Isn't job searching the worst? I hate waiting for callbacks. Are you keeping track of everyone you sent resumes? Make sure you call them back if they don't call you within a week. That will let them know you're really interested, and sometimes they just forget to call back.

Have a great day!

Unfortunately, all the places I apply to say, don't call us we will call you on their ads, so can't really phone. but..... today is my hubby's first day back since he put his two weeks in so it should be interesting.

I feel extreme guilt seeing my trainer today, too much money especially when school is starting and there are clothes/bus passes/school supplies and registraion to buy. :worried:

15 minutes on jabobs ladder

rear delt fly 2x10=65

Well she was going to have me start supersetting, but the way things are going we have made an executive decision to just do the October 7th BB muscle beach show. So still new program, no new diet yet. It is all good.

Got two interviews this week!!! yahoo!
Hubby still working so far, his boss has been in the HR department for the whole morning so it should be interesting!

well, i though I was going to have two interviews but

one is for a construction boot camp - which is AWESOME, cause they place you with a company afterwards - good experience, so I go next week for an orientation.

the other one, thank god I researched, it is another scam!!!!! aHHHHHHH, didn't realize how many companies out there protray themselves as one thing and they aren't (it is to sell insurance) she made it seem like it was an HR position!!!!

oh well, staying positive, at least now I am getting wise and researching these companies (there is always a positive) :)

off to blow off some steam

I wish, she has me doing cardio before my weights now and after  I guess it could count for the before cardio but I have to get the beer out of my system!

Gotta start planning for next week, it is our anniversary, not sure what to do, we have never done anything before but it is the 7 year itch, hee hee, any suggestions?????

Did you catch a buzz from the bee-ya ?(talking like Sarge :)) lol

ummmm yup, hubby loves me, I am such a cheap drunk!

didn't have the four all in one day though, two one day, two the other  I would rather not have beer anymore, I find rum/vodka coolers or wine to be my booze of choice now, that sounds so nice LOL.
