I dont know what the poster that you quoted said, however circumcised obviously get aids it is just not as likely as not being...

God, good question. I'm inclined to say that it is medically pointless. Also, why would anyone believe it isn't painful to the baby to have it done? Do you somehow think that babies can't feel that? However, Americans are very backward and the girls go "ewww...look" if they see something different. It's a silly custom. So, I guess the choice as a mom in America is whether to submit your child to a medically pointless and painful procedure or have people stigmatize him in some way about it.

Cosmetic surgery on the genitals of infants seems like a pretty damned sick idea if you look at it at face value.

1. The way it looks I guess is personal opinion, but I think we are just used to seeing them cut.

2. Actually, everything I've read points to the opposite being true. Having the glans covered protects it.

3. There is a condition where the skin or frenulum is too tight, but this is by far the exception and not the norm. In these men, they can have the problem corrected later.

4. From what I have read there is no correlation to circumcision or the lack thereof to contracting STD's.

I would feel bad sending my little boy to be cut with no anaesthesia. From what I have seen, they just cut them with no pain relief. That is barbaric. I would hate that to be one of his first experiences on earth -mommy handing him over to some guy who holds him down and cuts a body part off with a scalpel! EEECCCKKKKK!

It just freaks me out!
