In some religions, like Islam and Judaism, it's mandatory, u don't get a say in the matter. My baby son got cut a couple days after he was born, I think many doctors would tell u it's much healthier too.

God, good question. I'm inclined to say that it is medically pointless. Also, why would anyone believe it isn't painful to the baby to have it done? Do you somehow think that babies can't feel that? However, Americans are very backward and the girls go "ewww...look" if they see something different. It's a silly custom. So, I guess the choice as a mom in America is whether to submit your child to a medically pointless and painful procedure or have people stigmatize him in some way about it.
