I wanted to see how much I could bench, tried for 140 lbs & I was able to lift the bar off the rack & bring it to my chest but couldn't push it back up again!! LOL

So I did 3 sets of 5 with 110lbs and 1 set of 90 lbs for 5......free weight bench

Definitely time to start increasing weight as I want to bench my bodyweight (140lbs) by the end of summer....

Poor Jen, stuck under the bar! :)

Hey, it's good to "test" yourself occasionally. We all get stuck in what is comfortable, so challenging ourselves is good!

Heh, you should have seen me -- my feet flailing all over!! I pretty much wanted to see how much I could do once. Made me realize I have some work to do!!

SPOTTER!

Also helps you get out those couple extra reps at higher weight that you can eventually get on your own!

Oh, my hubby WAS spotting me.....he may never get me in that position again!! hehehehe :p

jens: if I can offer some advice for the bench; I got my gf from benching 85lb to benching 135 10 times and she messed around w/185 a couple of weeks ago - scared a living crap out of me -:) anyways, negatives and weight control. take that 135 and lower it down slowly - have your hubby lifted of your chest and repeat that a few times. try that for a couple of weeks - let us know.

Figure your 1rm max.......do 65% of that for 6 sets of three reps...moving the bar as fast as you can......

So 91 lbs (140 x 65%) is supposed to be by 1rm max?? Cuz I bench 100 right now 5x5.....
