Charles Poliquin VS Ian King...

Bill Starr is/was a vegetarian. I wouldn't recomend that to anyone trying to get bigger

You're thinking of Bill Pearl.

---------------------------------------------------------

Bill Starr is the best coach brought up on this thread, IMO.

Phile, go with BigBadBootyDaddy29's suggestions. Great stuff. :)

YES, Bill Pearl became a vegetarian, but that was waaaay after his prime and due to health reasons....Starr recommends eating steaks, about the only thing Starr and Pearl have in common is they share the same first name......I am not flaming you collegiate lifter, but next time you post something, please make sure you have all the facts.

Thanks for the information about Bill Starr.
But about what I've read, the training he teaches is more for football players and football players are tall and BIG.
On the other side I am i a bit on the short side (5' 8") and I weigh way more less thatn football players.
Are his training methods also tried and appled by hardgainers?
I don't know if I can consider myself really a hardgainer. I am not tall and I 'm not thin and ripped either. The problem is I have problem gaining weight. I eat more than my older brother who is also training with weights and I am nowhere as big as he is.
If I would describe my bodytype, I would say I'm a mesomorph with ectomorph characteristics. Does this make sense?

Sseos, Bill Starr's 5x5 can be applied to any healthy person, no matter what their bodytype is. I am an ectomorph, and I responded very well to 5x5 in the past. I am friends with an endomorph and a mesomorph, and they both also made good gains on the cyclical 5x5. It provides a perfect mix of strength, power, and size, and it will allow you to experience how interrelated those aspects of adaptation to training can be with the proper program.

:)

Yeah, bro.....the 5x5 can benefit a hard gainer....and Starr modified a lot of his programs for wrestlers who had to remain in a certain weight class because that type of training causes rapid increases in bodyweight......needsize has a 5x5 thread on here geared towards bodybuilding and hypertrophy, which I think is an excellent post.....if you want som other sample stuff let me know what you want to focus on, exercises you feel work for you and ones you don't like, your strengths and weanesses....just post it up, or PM or email me at [email protected].

Thanks for your interest in making me huge:)
I read the post of Needsize about 5x5 and I found it very tempting. Is that Bill Starr style? I've also read that Poliquin is influenced by Bill Starr and he also incorporates 5x5 in his training routines , but I think it's only one of his many methods that he is using.
You said you might help me finding the appropriate program for me and help me pass that 150 pounds.
Is it ok if I send you some stuff about me, like photos and routines I'm using now?
Thanks for all the great stuff guys.
This board is awsome.:D
