Cardio is Bullshit

Yes that is a point that hasn't been mentioned in this thread. I don't want to be a huge guy that can't climb a flight of stairs without stopping at the landing for a rest.

I want to be the next Jack Lalane!

I think cardio is overrated, in terms of fat burning. It does burn fat, but not as efficient as it was made to sound by many. Cardiovascular exercises were documented to elevate GH release however. It does raise metabolism. And its healthy for the heart, so moderate cardio won't hurt.

intense cardio is not the way to go. u might think its great to look at the treadmill after a 30min run and have it tell u, youve burned double what u would have burned on 30min walk. but, all you r burning on that 30min run is glycogen and muscle tissue. whereas on a 30 min walk you will burn much more fat.

as well, you dont start to burn much fat until 20min of cardio.
so, go for a 45min brisk walk(4-5mile/hour) after every workout. your fat loss should increase.

or u could throw in some clen,t3 :D

cardio gives me the energy and endurance to run from the cops and lost them each and every time. sad but true, lots of big ass BBs can't even last 10 min in the ring.

I think it basically comes down to everyone is different. True any cardio at all is good for the heart, but as for weight loss, everyone reacts differently to it. Find what works for you and stick with it!

Unless you are specifically a BB or training for bulk only, any kind of cross training is good for your fitness and also for small muscles, tendons, etc.

I roller blade. Not only does it do wonders for overall fitness, tendons, etc, but there are things it does for the lower back, abs, calves, and even triceps that I swear I'm not getting from weights alone.

Low intensity long burning exercise seems to help the abs and calves in particular, doing more for me than if I just try to hit them in the gym.

Too much cardio will screw up your lifts though. Groin gets tired from too much blading, then I can't squat for a couple days.

Yeah you may think cardio is BS now but what if you end up in the ____mospital___ years down the road with heart problmes, it bet you would have wished you took care of your heart now. My dad just went through a triple bypass at 48yoa and cardio is what saved his life as he really started doing a lot of it within the past couple years. I'll stick to doing cardio staying as healthy as possable thank you

I hope this is a joke! The whole idea of cardio work is not to just burn cals. it is about -- keeping yourself fit and building endurance! Do not do long drawn out cardio routines -- go with short high intensity -- 20-25 mins. (wind sprints) -- Heavy bag work ect..

the guy sounds like he is tryin lose fat, so im givin him some advice that might help him.
i know that cardio is good for staying fit, but if losing fat is your primary objective, then longer slower paced cardio sesions is what should work.
