I am currently bulking on about 3100 calories and I eat carbs in every meal except before bed, where I just eat protein and fats (usually cottage cheese with some UDOs oil and ANPB). I have also started drinking a casein shake with a little bit of oil during the night when I wake up for nature's call.
Of the weight I've gained so far, about 77% has been LBM and 23% is fat, so it seems to be working.
