Carbs in pwo shake or not? Does it effect gh release?

It's the lactic acid that you produce while lifting that inhibits gh release. But by the time your workout is done you have already released a gh pulse, the best thing for your body at this point is carbs and protein, get an insulin spike to shuttle nutrients to your muscles.

Debatable, but yes once you take in carbs post workout it kills the GH release. Its good to take in protein only immediateky post workout, then consume carbs 30-45 minutes later from everything I've read from credible sources

So would carbs (simple) only stop the natural release of growth hormone and not the synthetic type. Very confusing as to guys having growth require them. I thought I read that the carbs had more to do with insulin release and controlling cortisol. Getting natural testosterone back to a higher level quicker. I actually prefer my 25g of maltodextrin, 25g of dextrose and whey as I feel a lot better after a workout. Just my two bobs worth :)

We are talking solely about GH released and produced by your own body. Your natural GH levels rise during resistance training and peak post work out. Consuming carbs at this time will kill that natural GH spike. You will get a big spike in insulin response, and decrease your GH at the same time.

Obviously anything synthetic injected like GH and slin changes things dramatically.
