Can you microwave gear?

To sterilize it or heat it up a little beforehand. I don't have a flame or hot plate at work.
If there is a metal stopper in it I am gonna say no. Actually regardless I am going to say no however it would be entertaining as all hell to read about it if some did do it.

i would be concerned about damaging the hormone..i believe the general rule is 275 degress after you hombrew....

way too risky unless you know exactly what setting/time to do beforehand. gear too expensive to use trial and error to determine how long it should be heated.

ya, use hot water, or hairdryer. if you are just trying to warm it to make it go thru syringe that should be fine!

Well I own the place, I'm alone alot :)

The warm water thing I am doing. Never thought of a hairdryer though, not a bad idea.

Yeah! It will get that bottle very hot to touch so be careful a don't burn yourself---even more careful don't drop the bottle & break it!

Thanks Radar.

Today the damn stopper came off after running under semi hot water, and you know those damn things never reseat again, unless there's a secret I'm unaware of. Now I want to cook it everytime before I use it.

it is VERY frustrating when good gear leaks out of a defective stopper.

i ordered some replacement stoppers from getpinz.com and the NEVER fit on properly like the original. i have learned to never use the same hole in a vial twice. best off putting a new hole thru the rubber each time when drawing

Microwaves are designed to work on water-based materials - the radio waves are at a resonant frequency of water molecules. I'm not sure if it would work on oils. Somehow I would bet that you will end up cleaning gear off the inside of the microwave...

You didn't remove the metal cap that holds the stopper on did you?

Theres a 1/4 inch round cut in the metal that you remove!

A trick I heard was to hold vial under armpit, which is meant to be one of the warmest parts of body to warm it up, a mate used to do this before his sus shots and said it took the sting out of it
