Can you get protein bars for under 1$ apiece?

I'm gonna try the high protein diet and see what happens, although I've never believed in it. Your body can only use so much protein. A little experimenting here.
Well stay away from Protein bars they're shit.

If you do it do the the CKD and read up on MR.X's stuff.

Why are they shit? Seems to me, just another convenient way to add extra protein to your diet.

Preservatives and HI GI sugars used to make them. Whats the point in consuming a low GI protein if your going to throw your bodies GI out of wack with bars?

Gee, I don't know Wodin. I need to study up more on dieting. Why does it even matter if it's just a snack between meals? You're still getting possibly needed protein? I'm not all that familiar with the GI thing and how it works.

The whole purpose of a High Protein diet is to cut fat without sacrificing a lot of calories. This is accomplished because the high protein foods produce a low GI index in your diet meaning that they don't just automatically store as fat in your body.

High GI foods, like Donuts, they go straight to fat. Low GI foods, like a steak, they go to help make your body work and burn energy first and then the excess goes to waste and fat.

See.

Any concrete science behind this or is it just a theory? A donut will not go straight to fat if you are eating under the calories needed to maintain your weight. Like if you only had 1500 calories for the day, that donut is gonna get burned? Thanks for the info. Reminds me of how much I still need to know and that reaching my goal is still possible.

Tons of concrete science behind this.

Read up on Mr. x's stuff on the diet board. Good things abound there.

Thanks, I will do this. It's coming back to me now. Seems I read that the high GI of certain carbs can be countereffected by adding protein and fat with the meal. Time to get in the shower.
