Caloric Intake when trying to gain weight

How many extra cals do you guys eat when trying to put weight on? By extra cals I mean how many more calories beyond what you need to stay the same weight.

the first 2 weeks do +500 from your mainenance , and then 300+ for each two week sets after that

Example:

maintenance calories of X

Week 1-2: X+500
Week 3-4: X+800
Week 5-6: X+1200
Week 7-8: X+1500
Week 9-10: X+1800
Week 11-12: X+2100
Week 13-14: X+2400

And I usually do this until I notice an undesired amount of fat gain and redesign my diet or decide it's time to cut...whatever works.

i know at what range i need to maintain my bodyweight. i then just add 500cals a day. i use the mirror, tape measure, & scale to evaluate my progress and make weekly adjustments as needed. If I am still not gaining I will add another 500cals a day. If I notice I am adding bf too quickly I will take away 500cals a day.

What?! are you crazy...that's way too many calories...considering that anything over about 1-2 lbs per week of muscle when gaining would be mostly fat that's way too much calorie progress. Your body won't be able to adjust that quickly...that means if you go on a 2 week long bulk and maintain at 2000 calories and weigh about 150, that means 2 weeks from starting you're eating like 500*14+2000 that's something around 9000 cals. I don't think anyone has the time for that and that person's gonna be bloated as hell, fat as hell, and spending money on a bunch of food that's just gonna go to fat. The key is to realize that bodybuilding isn't about gaining weight fast or cutting fast, it's about doing it right.

wtf r u talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant u read?

it is only 500cals ed over maintenance. which is 3500 cals over every week. my advice is to evaluate on a weekly basis and only go up if needed. i am not saying to keep increasing by 500ed each and every week. this is a perfect way to find the range u need to start gaining weight.
