How did you get started..just wanna know your story?

im thinking of joining...but dont really know how to get started
and what to do..im trying to research MMA schools and what not..

help me out

Where are you located and do you have a combat sport background such as wresting, boxing, or kickboxing? My advice would be to go to a local MMA show and see what teams the competitors represent. Contact the schools if they are in your area and tell them of your intentions to compete. A lot of schools have special training days just for competitors, but they may not allow you into those classes until you have some experience training under your belt. Be careful about schools and coaches that want you to actively compete too fast. Often these schools are in with the promoters and sometimes they may want to use you as cannon fodder to fluff people's records. Find a place that is legitimately interested in your development.

i train, but dont fight...what do you need to know.
Find a solid school in your area, ask around. Go to MMA.tv and ask for a good school.

You will start in a beginners class and move up from there.
