Cali's Road to the big 4-0

I have to post a pic of my new training shoes! I have officially joined the "club" for these shoes. My son says I look ridiculous, even though he owns a pair of black ones. LOL

I will just say that when you put them on, you're sold. They feel amazing in the weight room. I bought a pair that are intended for things like running but did not really like the feel of them on the treadmill last night, which is one of the reasons I didn't do HIIT. Maybe it just takes some getting used too.

Really! cali! lol

I go to a yuppie gym they look at me funny when I stroll in wearing my chuck taylors! They all wear these shoes with toes wait a minute.........

I just got two pairs my self the trek and sprint. My friend says there is a comfort curve with them it takes time to get used to the feel. What one's did you get?

Tricep feels great! I did shoulders tonight and will get that up later but the shoulder/ arm is feeling good. Only a slight tweak when I did ohp but I kept it at 12.5 lb db....felt wimpy but kept it low. I think I'll have a bit of soreness on that side but compared to even 2 weeks ago, just lifting my arm up....it's much better!

Awesome! Go get em girl!

I bought the komodosport version which is supposed to be a bit more for the running/ fitness. I've heard it takes some time to get used to them too for running in particular. They feel great just wearing them in the gym though.

I trained shoulders last night. It felt pretty good. I have a bit of soreness this morning on my left arm but it's feeling stronger. I don't have a shoulder issue but more where the tricep muscle connects into the shoulder capsule. It shoots the pain down the top, outside of my arm (which was where the bench press motion was causing pain). Really, though, I'm feeling sore everywhere because I've stepped it up this week!!! LOL

Again, super low weight, rep ranges between 12-15

Shoulder press - 3 sets @ 12.5 lb db
front raises - 3 sets @ 10 lb db
bent over/ side lat/ cable - 3 sets @ 15 lb
Upright rows - 3 sets @ 30 lb bb

Every day I have to do a couple other shoulder type ones too...

I do them both with 5 lb plates but I don't know what they're called. I think one would be called the internal rotation and the other one is similar but done standing, almost like a scarecrow with your arm out and bent at the elbow so you bottom half of your arm hangs down. Then you keep the elbow locked but raising it up and down. You see guys warming up with the movement all the time. I do 3 sets of each of those too.

And....last but not least...

banged off 20 mins of cardio on the treadmill running intervals, although would be more of a moderate intensity vs a true hiit. I walk one min, run two etc.

I'm feeling it today! My body is sore in places I haven't felt in awhile. Feels good but man, I need a nap!

Saturday is my official weigh in day! Stay tuned!! :)

On a shoulder note....all you experts out there....

I will be smaller on the shoulder cap - the very top of my shoulders. Are there any recommendations for targeting that specific area that you guys have found especially helpful?
