I don't think I saw anyone on this thread say that it was currently Legally between a Man/Woman, outside of those few states that actually have made that Constit amendment recently.
Religion has stated it as so, or someones opinion that is should be so.

U.S. Marriage Law is an "assumed historical legal institution between 1 man and 1 woman of consenting age" with several actual Legal differences State to State such as age, relationship restrictions etc.

Each state currently does NOT legally have to honor or recognise another states marriage license. They simply do for ease of people moving across state lines.

My point is that unless it is legally defined in some way at a Federal level chaos will ensue when people move across state lines under this concept of each state being able to recognise Gay Unions or not.

2 - Sounds like what he really did, was realize that the church is full of gays, and joined it in order to get a date. Hell, Jesus himself hung out only with men. I don't remember the Bible saying he had a girlfriend. I guess that is why Jesus was tight with the church movement. Cause he knew where to find the best, ahem.. , "roommates."

The way sins are scored and measured are not on a value system. That is silly. Jerking off thinking of Jessica Simpson is a sin. Homosexuality is a sin as well. (by your statement, though calling God clumsy for making people this way is a sin too). Is one sin worse than the other? No. It is just sin. And I can tell if that it wasn't by any means, I would be going to hell for a lot worse things than sleeping with another man. That probably wouldn't even make the laundry list of things I have done.

first of all. those were OLD LAWS in effect BEFORE Jesus' time. After Jesus came, NEW laws were created.

What the BIBLE says about Homosexuality:

Genesis 19 describes that God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because of their homosexuality.
-Leviticus 18:22 states that homosexual behavior is an abomination.
L-eviticus 20:13 is similar, and adds a compulsory death sentence to the offender.
-Judges 19 discusses the near extermination of the tribe of Benjamin because of their homosexual desires.
-Deuteronomy and Kings state that there shall be no sodomites allowed in Israel.
-Romans 1:26-27 says that homosexuality -- both by men and women -- is unnatural and a perversion.
-1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says that homosexual behavior is such a serious sin that anyone who commits it cannot enter heaven.
-1 Timothy 1:9-10 considers homosexuality on a par with murdering ones parents.
-Jude 7 refers back to the homosexual sin in Sodom.

The Bible is totally consistent: homosexuality is a profound sin, worthy of capital punishment, which will prevent a person from attaining heaven. However, 1 Corinthians 6:11 holds out hope for the homosexual. If they will repent of their sins and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, they will be cured and become heterosexual.

ALSO, EVERYONE SINS.. thats where GRACE comes in... but there are some sins that are SOO bad that they are ABOMINATIONS, and God views those differently.

Or God had said previously "Let this be how things are" and then when Jesus arrived God said "Hang on... let's change a few things."

What's to say God hasn't made a few more changes since that time? If he did, who would know? And if they knew, who would believe them when they revealed the new changes?

Jesus was brought into the world out of a need for it. Before then, God actually did intervene ala events like Sodom and Gomorrha. Also God already had laws setup -> 10 commandments.

Religion has been completely "whored out" so to speak... but the laws in the Bible remain true and shall remain true.

i don't personally believe that homosexuals are "born that way".. some i have talked to said it was a personal choice.. others said they were "born that way" .. either way we all have our burdens, and its our choice to carry them or not.

and just a lil fyi: i've only been a christian over a couple years.. and i have done almost everything there is to do thats wrong. i do see things in a lot of different viewpoints.. so honestly i'm not condemning you as a person.

So, the way I see it, we are most definately born that way so therefore it is either God's fault for making us this way (yeah, go blame HIM) or our parents fault. Either way, someone (god or our parents) are going to hell over this. Glad it is not me.

I understand the perdictament about gays being attracted to the same sex. But that is just how the world got out of whact after Adam and Eve sinned for the first time. Gays have inkling towards the same sex much like an alcholic has an inking for the bottle but they can be over came through Christ and prayer.

no, the bible corrects the old laws by stating the new ones on its own..

the ones i stated NEVER changed.. in fact, they are reiterated over and over in both testaments.
