Cause of insecurities AND the fact that (I'm speaking for men here, FYI) society has set it up that a man's social value in the eyes of his male friends is raised exponentially when he has sex with a chick. You get rewarded for it, it makes you feel good, so you make sure others know when you hit it. Pintoca asked why this has to do with insecurities - cause a truly secure person would not need to seek acceptance based on something like this. My college buddies used to literally get fucking pissed at me cause I didn't take part in the morning ritual of talking about the girl you fucked the night before. I just never saw the need. Now, don't get me wrong, I'd make sure people knew if I hit the skins with a real hot chick, but looking back on it I am ashamed at that behavior. It wreaks of approval-seeking

why is it cool to share the birth of your child, your wedding, a promotion at work, your personal best at tetris, but its taboo to share a great sexual escapade with people?

SHaring anything with the attempt to make someone else feel bad is stupid, sex or not, but my friends like hearing stories of chicks I've hooked up with because they are all secure with their own sex life and find it interesting.

lol @ people who say "I don't need to prove anything to anyone" newsflash, people don't share the birth of their child to PROVE it to anyone, just like I don't share a story about a particularly fun sexual adventure to PROVE that it happened.

why does someone else's sex life even have relevence to you? u think ur better than them if u get more girls than them?

why do u even tell ur friends u had/have sex, (reasons other than being so desperate for attention and praise youl grab at anything you can to elevate yourself over other people, when really all it does is make you reak of desperation for acceptance and praise, in the end just making you look like a loser)

I knew a guy who said mockingly only banging a half dozen or so chics was like being a virgin. Apparently he was also pussy whipped and had to beg his gf to give him poon, not long before she dumped him.

Maybe it's how I grew up but I was always pretty modest about sex talk. If something particularly interesting happened I might've brought it up to have a or moment, but always tried to keep an element of class to it, depending on who I was talking to. Moreso as I get older it seems.

I kinda look down on the "numbers" game these days. Too many repercussions for someone to be proud of it. And big deal to anyone else anyway.
