Busy schedule routine

New Jack

New member
I've been having to work alot of over time at my job lately, so I'm only able to get to the gym twice a week these days. I'm gonna be working alot in the next month or so, so for the next six weeks I was planning on doing this routine:

Tues.

Bench Press 3x5
Military Press 3x5
Standing Barbell Curls 3x8
Seated Incline Hammer Curls 3x8
Front Forearm curls 3x15
Reverse Forearm Curls 3x15
Tricep Pushdowns 3x8

Fri.

Squats 3x5
Deads 3x5
Hanging Cleans 3x5
Calve Raises 3x15
Shrugs 3x8
Lat Pull Downs 3x8
4 way Neck Machine 3x8

Also, hit the abs with crunches 4 days a week. No cardio. My stats are 6' 205 22 years old.

Is this a suitable routine? I'm only gonna do it for about 6 weeks.

I go school and work 40+ hours a week and I only can train 2 days a week like you. I have been doing this routine for the past 3 weeks and I keep me workouts short and simple. And it takes me only an hour at the most to train per workout session. So far the only thing that went down is my biceps since I am not training them right now. But as long as I am making progress on my bench and squat I am happy.

Tuesday
Hyperextensions 2 sets of 12-15
Squat(4 warm up sets) 3 sets of 3
Deadlifts(40-50% of max) 3 sets of 10-12
Wide Grip Pulldowns 3 sets of 6-8
Skull Crushers 3 sets of 6-8

Friday
Bench(3 warm up sets) 3 sets of 3
Dumbell bench 3 sets of 8-10
Military Press(2 warm up sets) 2 sets of 5-7

New Jack, I did a similar routine for about six months. Did it for
the same reason as you, lack of time. I did not make any gains
for the upper body. However, with that said, I made huge gains
on the lower. I did 2 X 5 heavy for my squats almost every week
and two heavy DL sets every other week or so.

I am now going totally WS on the upper body and modified WS
on the lower while still keeping the things that worked for my
legs and back. I am using WS to better my DL and squat form
and speed.

Hope this helps. :)
