If he is in car sales he is full of it because my dealerships are down over 30%. Units are not moving as they were this time last year.

so you're saying since your dealership is down over 30% then I have to be as well? LMFAO...

You can't even compare new car sales to used. There isn't shit to be made selling new units.

True, however my dealerships sell used cars 2 to 1 however the market is way off due to job layoffs and tighter lending requirements. So, you are saying the used car industry is up from last year?

I know the used market is doing better than new lately, but getting financing is shit across the board.

actually, financing isn't even a problem all that much.

My prime banks are still buying paper like crazy, as well as sub-prime (though the discounts you incur w/subprime paper are ridiculous).

Banks still need to buy paper to stay in business, they tighten the rains one week, and then buy deep the next.

if you read my post I clearly said I'm still down from years prior, but i'm still doing pretty damned good, especially compared to my local competition.

If you're not moving units, blame it on your sales staff.

Did you know 78% of people that show up on your lot will buy, and 90% of those 78% will buy within 1 week of them leaving. That's why follow up is so important if you can't close them when they're on your lot.

also, did you know 50% of people will buy on the spot if you give them a good enough presentation of the vehicle?

Yet, the average closing ratio is only 20%...When times are slow you have to perserver, and make those sales. Get your guys on the phones, off their butts, and close some deals.

Do you sell more used cars if you undo more shirt buttons and add more gold chains? What about chest hair and mousse?
