***Yup you guessed it I was still hungry… so guess what I decided to do … finish the leftovers from last nights dinner *** :rolleyes:

• 4 garlic parm breadsticks

Passed out on the couch for a few hours, heading back there after updating too ...

HEY..,. so you gonna be my mentor or what?? LOL what do you mean "incorp. more " to KILL LEGS. Im assuming its got to do with sprints or something. I tried searching the net on plyo and sprints but nothing detailed enough for me to know EXACTLY how to do it.

*IM HOPELESS and stuck with this FAT ASS forever :(

You can still do things like

squats & Hack

Lunges - I'm sure you can handle more than 15 lb DBs ... walking ones too, knee up & squeeze your butt

Step Ups(bench) - weighted, push through heel & squeeze you butts, don't be afraid to go heavier than 10-15 lb dbs ...

Extensions - ***watch the knees from going to heavy***, you can use those bands & cables too to side step

Leg Curls - lying, standing or with cables or bands

Stiff deads - I love these :)

I NEVER did the high reps thing to help reshape my legs... I have read 15-25 reps, but not for me...

I coompletely reshaped my body, tweaked my diet, used what muscle I had to build more muscle and focused on hitting the upper body extra hard (see lats) to achieve a more happy balance with my physique.

I also BULKED for about 16 weeks ... it was my break, off time hiatus, I moved, etc.... & I when I trained it was lower reps higher weights ... no real SET schedule... and I recall being told that was the happiest Mr. B has even seen me .. funny how those things work ... Anyway ...

You don't have to do that ... I would hit the stepper or step mill hard as well more cardio if you want to sacrifice lean muscle mass in your legs ( I dare not say overtrain, b/c I feel if you are eating enough ... blah blah blah), and if you can handle that outdoor stair/sprint work. Running really shreds me up too, but this can all all be too hard on a persons knees, so you have to take a little by little and try something ...

Use what you just did as one leg day, and add another ... hit em 2 X a week ... with cardio as needed ... & think about my previous suggestion to pack on the muscle up top & bring out your "V"
 
I am beginning to think the aches in my back are from all the knives in it ... ever feel that way? Hmm .. such is life ...

I told her we're gonna' show her what cheating REALLY IS in July! :chomp: Just thought you might get a little kick out of that story ;)

IM going to do all of the above. I will be adding an extra leg day on wednesdays .. that is a cardio day so I have no idea how to do it. My schedule doesnt allow 2x day training b/c of work. I donno... I have to figure it out. It will take me a while to actually even get up to being able to do all this but I WILL!!! SO , you are saying go with the high weight low reps on the legs??? Running doesnt really do that much for me other than make my knees swell, the stationary cut up my legs believe it or now. I do pretty much all machines when I do cardio.. b/c I get bored easy. THANKS SOOO MUCH... Booty muscle.. here you come :)

Oh Aires, agreed with Bun about the lower reps for the legs. I'm waayy behind in leg development compared to back and chest so I've been increasing leg training to twice a week and sticking to reps more in the 6-8 range. Put an inch on each quad in the last month. Still need more size which I'm working on.

Correct me if I'm wrong with what you were getting at Bun. :)

Well The thing is that I have a LOT of size in my legs... Naturally I have muscular legs but I also store fat there... in my booty and side pockets. I hate those and I work soooo hard to make them go away :rolleyes:
 
They'll go away. Just have more fat receptors in the lower body area which is true for most women. Men have it in the stomach area. :rolleyes: I'd do the cardio after your leg workout when you do them on your second day. They'll already be prefatigued but you can lower the resistance on whatever cardio you're doing. The stair mill for me is really intense. A lot different than running which I was used to. Stationary bike too. But don't worry about the fat loss. It's usually the last area to go but it will.

Don't get hung up on this "I have muscular legs" thing and let that keep you from doing the training. If they get "too muscular" then you can shave that back later. IMO most people who think they have "muscular legs" have a degree of fat on there that really needs to be addressed more than worryign about "gettign more muscular". Seriously. I know all about that. I'm the same. But the fat is what makes them look that much bigger and is probably partially responsible for the perception that "I have muscular legs". That is a very hard part for me to lean out and it will take finding the right type of training to get that result You will need to find that right type of training to make the difference - you are looking to completely reshape what your body naturally does. I've gotten myself down to below 8% a couple of times now but it still hasn't made a sustained reshapign of my legs - I will most likely be moving my training around to a whole helluva lot a of plyo type stuff to get them down to make that shape "change" and stay that way.

Anyway -- I'm just saying -- -don't get hung up on this "I have muscular legs" thing -- until you are ripped down to striated quads, you will be holding fat on your legs and that is how your body is designed. That's what you need to work towards and not worry about any extra muscle and let that limit what you are doing towards your goals.

My goal for my suggestions is not to add size, but to redistribute what she already has & reshape, and YES some size may be added … but she can add extra cardio to help with that if need be … as long as she is eating enough to atone for this activity level. Aries, stationary bike is good for that extra cardio IMO, as I have been using that for my 20 min PWO cardio on (in the gym) leg day. But it is important you try the other suggestions & hit that step mill at least until you can get more creative & implement some other ideas. I would push with her more to a 6-10 reps range for some (even 6 on the weighted step ups) then even 10-12 reps range for others (stiff deads, hypers, walking weighted lunges, but mix it up) ... with Aries, I am suggesting what I did to redevelop & reshape my legs ... as of late I was able to do that on a cutting cal range as opposed to a bulking cal range, which I am under the impression you have been eating more than you would to cut = which could be why you have added size. I did not do any 20-25 reps etc ... b/c I didn't need to do that to achieve what I did. You can really burn out your legs by doing high rep walking lunges or the like, but I would rather add some weight, do jump squats & jump lunges, make it fun, kickbox, work some muscles I never knew existed :) The sprints, plyos, step mill (your new fave :)), stairs, combined with regular weight lifting (squats, stiff dead, hypers, ham raises etc) .... I just mixed it all up & tried a bunch of things and *Bam* .. out came these legs ... all while eating my cutting cal range but per our past conversations you are eating for size/growth, and I am thinking her cals are going to be more at a cutting level ... may need to increase as she goes along to tweak to appease her energy levels, b/c along with lower body work, she needs to put on upper body mass ...

I finally have energy .. I am going to try & run .. be back in a bit

Good luck with your run! Running brings back nightmares of college soccer for me. I got shin splints so bad that I needed crutches. I think rollerblading would be a much better alternative. Make sure if you go runnning that you got some amazing shoes. :)
 
Aries what Bunny suggested is a good place to start, and see how that works for you, it worked great for Buns legs, but if I did that they would grow lol, but I'm also a lucky lady in a way cause I actually don't hold very much fat on them, even at 26% bf.

Hey Twinny! I was always afraid to even train legs for that very reason ... I did not want more growth. Even During the Shadow Project I was scared & after that, when cutting for that April shoot, I didn't do any leg work at all really ... and took 2 inches off my thighs & calves and leaned out to wear I look back now and think I was SKINNY ... Since then I added the 2 inches back on my legs, and obvious width up top ... but the leg measurements at full bulk, pre 2nd round of cutting did not change one bit, but the shape is completely different ... I finally accepted my legs, and trained them like I should train them ... I am happy I gave it shot :)

Yes you are lucky, your gams are beautiful ... :)

Chip Cookies (both soft baked & with Reeses PB cups), Twizzlers, A spoonful of Skippy at my P’s house b/c I forgot what it tasted like, Flipz (chocolate covered pretzels), A Milk Chocolate bar, My dads vanilla & butter Pecan ice cream with added Hersey syrup, Dinner at my P’s (Mom got me ‘Broosters’ which is this chicken restaurant I use to eat at daily … contained chicken, small pork chop, rice & broc mix, potato wedges & texas toast), Cheese & Sausage baked Panzarotti, cheese sticks with dipping mar., fries with ketchup, after the hospital went to my fave mom & pop pancake house with the P's & had Greek Toast with Strawberry jam, Veggie skillet (with added meat, turkey Sausage and egg beaters :rolleyes: ), Stuffed Cinnamon Apple French Toast interlaced with cream cheese & regular syrup, glass of orange juice, small Pizza from Papa Johns with order of spicy buffalo wings with blue cheese for dipping, Cinna Swirl Sweet treat (which Is like a cinnamon pie/dough kinda thing), garlic parm breadsticks, and I think that about covers it …***

Look at the before pics you posted... the side by sides... you INSPIRE ME .. and I ADMIRE YOU ...

and gurl, I cannot begin to tell you how many anti's ive tried (anxiety, depressants, you name it) they have done more harm than good, and NOTHING for me ... and I opted to just say no ... I opted NOT to be loaded or comatose with meds that would prevent ME from being ME ... a topic to be discussed in person if you ever need to ... :rose: and when I say training is my outlet ... I LITERALLY mean it ... I finally found what worked for me ... can you imagine NOT have my 'meds' for the last 16 days??

Ahhh so anyway ... I try to be as honest as I can, and I am not perfect ... always with the fear that this, or the things I say will bite ME in the ass one day, but again, if it helps you, or some other person conquer his/her fear, overcome his/her obstacle, it was more than worth it to put my life & stories on the line because there was some one who benefited from it ... even just one ... one at a time I will help those that need it ... I must ...

I played soccer my entire life.. I would be pro right now if I took that path ... I decided on the road “less traveled" ... wise decision on my part :) I love blading, I prefer running, sprinting more than running & stairs as well as running incline hills ... yes, I am loopy :) :D :garza:

Have 5 pair of shoes, just bought 6th I wore today to break in some more ...

Jens THANK YOU, this is how I felt today during my run .. what a pretty picture ... all the ladies would go crazy I'm sure.. where I live it's like a mini college campus at times with 4 pools and the volley ball courts were all packed ... I glanced out of the corner of my eyes but had on my shades & focused on my run .. also wear pants & long sleeves, next time maybe even a hat ... fun area ... I don't get to enjoy everything this place has to offer ... and also why I live on the quiet & secluded part of 'the complex' 350 acres worth, with good reason :D

I didn't go gung ho on my cheats when first cutting... it was a big fat blue cheese steak and a few glasses of wine if that, I'm sure sbt noticed since she's read my entire thread :) ... maybe even larger portions & things that were not on my diet, but never , if ever any type of sweets, chocolate etc, desserts that I can think of at least not 12 1/2 weeks later, b/c after the April shoot I have one of those double chocolate chip Ginormous muffins, then nothing too bad until ATL in May :D ... not anything I eat these days for cheats, thats for sure. . Things are DIFFERENT these days :D as I have way more muscle and can maintain at 2200 cals easy :) ...

It was a gorgeous day, and everyone was out playing volleyball, fishing, with his/her animals, enjoying the 'grounds' ... I cannot wait to lift SOMETHING tomorrow morning .. its been a little over 2 weeks and the last few pages should bring you up to date:)

On a total serious note, I cannot thank you all enough for the postive vibes and well wishes for the last 2 weeks, b/c I have needed them .. for those that took the time to share something special, read my log, post in my log, and even the kind PM's & K messages ... I truly appreciate it more than you know. I had a pretty bad scare... period.

Mizuno's are the only running shoes I wear. I wrote that back in a few times... They definitely blow New Balance out of the water. I like the Mizuno Waves. I have also recommended those to a few people who also have feet problem's and they have had a decrease in their foot pain. The shoe is really good for someone who has a narrow, rigid foot, to almost flat feet.

I have what my doctor calls *textbook* arch. LOL.. they are very arched feet.... but I will be going to this store where they evaluate your feet and back and all that junk and they find the shoe that will best benefit you. Should be going next week or so.... appointments are hard to get there..

Conclusion, there is permanent damage from the tumor & the Cancer … this is why these issues I have exist and WILL always exist … My right kidney, and also the right ureter is slightly ‘pinched off’ (for lack of a better term = my brain mush), and this is NOT new information to me. It has been brought to my attention I can live fine with one kid if necessary and right not that is NOTHING I have to worry about, so that is fan-friggin-tastic. BOTH kids are doing just fine, everything is working better than it should given my situation (did ya expect any less from me?? I mean come on now ….) The OTHER doc unbeknownst to me … (I lost count) thought the progression of the hyrdo INSIDE the right kid needed further analysis, because it looked enlarged compared to my last CT … I am ok with that, better safe than sorry …. IT, me, my body, my situations and my results will always be abnormal … and ALL of this is heavily monitored, along with all of my monthly blood work & testing I do through the Oncology department. I also have a physical on June 30th … think I’ll pass ? :D

The only other issue I’ve never really addressed is whether or not I will ever be able to have children, which is something to be discussed at a later date, if ever. Different can .. leaving closed for now … as I fully believe in adoption and truly have more love & respect for all the blessed mothers out there, and why I do take the time to let you ladies know on this board :rose:

It feels good to get this all down, finally, as I kept my continuous battle with “C” under wraps for so long, and more than anything I wanted my results from diet & training to be seen for what they were … magnificent.

It FEELS GOOD to get this out of my head and where I can read back in my log 5 years from now and say wow, I remember that … etc …
