I am in the first week of “stuffing my pie hole,” as Spats so eloquently described it, and I am miserable. I feel bloated, stuffed, lethargic and just plain uncomfortable in my skin. I have cut out all cardio, increased calories by 500-700 a day (coming in at about 2000-2200), and increased carbs. I really, really hate it.

I have had UNBELIEVBLE pumps and strength gains (beaten my best in almost all categories), but I feel like crap. I want to get on the StepMill and climb like a fiend, but I have resisted….

I hope to God my body does some readjusting and I start to feel little more comfortable.

I think spatts also said she wished she had carb cycled since the beginning too... I 'bulked' for my 2nd competition and apparently never 'cut'... (live & learn) but I wasn't comfortable in my skin or my clothes for almost a year as a result.

Any comment on the feasibility of carb rotation but at higher levels to support "bulking" while not getting all the extra fat too?
 
LOL! Sorry VDL, no pity, except maybe the bloating discomfort - I wish I could be stuffing my pie-hole! It's sure preferable to sitting on my hands and gazing steadfastly at the computer screen while my colleagues chomp New Year's goodies like they're going out of fashion!

Sassy - totally! One can cycle at higher levels. MS gave me awesome advice to keep some of the fat gain off whilst gaining. It's in my Can't eat any MORE thread, somewhere around the end of Nov, beginning of Dec.

I cycled 1 day 400g carbs, one day 240g and 2 days 160g, protein and fat the same at 320g and 80 g respectively. You'd have to adjust for your stats, but she gave the grams per kilo body weight, so you can figure out it out.

My lifts have dropped noticeably. Cutting sucks! :(

Good for you spatts! I have tons of energy, but that doesn't make me any stronger! I think being off training for almost 3 weeks, and cutting out the creatine in that time probably have something to do with it ... And I STILL can't train back. Did 3 very light sets last night, then quit while I was ahead.

You're gonna get BIG and STRRONG, VDL!
 
Bulkin is great. Wish I could do it all the time. It must be a gender thing.

For me it's definitely not a gender thing. I love bulking. I hate cutting. It's that simple. I refuse to feel any sympathy for anyone going through the agonies of bulking. The only thing I feel a little uncomfortable with is walking on the beach in a bikini when I'm fully 'bulked'. I hope you guys have the same modicum of decency so you don't parade your blubber in public without an invitiation.

Honestly gals, get a grip on yourselves. It is perfectly natural and appropriate to 'bulk' (as far as our ancestors were concerned). If you can't enjoy this small reprieve from the supermodel mentality then you must be lacking joy and fulfillment in your lives too......

Come to a state fair in the midwest of America. Fully bulked, you'd still look like a toothpick with shoes on.

Enjoy it while you can..soon you will be wishing you could eat all those "bulking" foods:)

Pah! I feel perfectly comfortable walking on the beach whether at 20% or ... mmm, well, I've never been below 20, as far as I know LOL! Just GIVE ME THE BEACH! Anyway - maybe my blubber spreads itself around a little more on the bigger frame, or maybe I have some sort of opposite type of body dismorphia, but I think I look just fine in my daisy-print bikini. And any other female at that BF percentage should feel perfectly fine, too. Maybe you need to re-examine the supermodel mentality? Or choose another beach, heh heh.

Or maybe you just need an invitation? MS - would you like to join me, in public, for a bikini-clad blubber parade on the beach at your soonest convenience?

Spatts, is Sedalia anything like Newton, Kansas? BWaawwahahhahaha! I went there once.
 
I should have said "I feel a little uncomfortable................in my small home town where lots of people know me and have seen photos of me (or in the flesh) when I'm not bulking. The contrast is remarkable. In a foreign town where I'm anonymous I would have no hesitation to parade in a bikini or even nothing at all. I love going on tropical island vacations with all of my bulk in tow.

As for those heifers that parade around with their blubber hanging out, I kinda like them. They give me something interesting to stare at from behind my sunglasses. I marvel at how many different body types there are on this little planet ;) As for those puffy bodybuilding males that swagger around feeling full of themselves, I think they're just hilarious. They're big and strong, but have bellies at least as big as the young heifers. I think I'd rather have cellulite than a belly that looks 7 months along........
