Buy a rice cooker and a 50lb bag of short grain brown rice if you can find it. You'll be surprised how long it doesn't last you.
I never have white rice unless it's my only option, and then usually only for a cheat meal. When I get some healthy-ish mexican take-out I have them leave the white rice off, then add my own brown when I get home.
Certain dieticians seem to think so, but I think otherwise... Plus brown rice is not bleached so you get all its nutrients unlike white rice. Bleached food is not good for your health at all, studies suggest that foods which are bleached tend to store MUCH easier in the fatty deposits, so all I got to say is stick with brown rice.
