thanks bros. just for the record my gains arent going to be solely dependent on creatine. I am in fact eating 4 K cals a day and train like a mofo. Creatine is merely a supplement in my regime.
20 lbs is expecting quite a bit in 12 weeks, if you're looking for a 'pure' gain of strictly muscle.
I am one of the lucky ones that creatine REALLY works for, but different brands will have different effects. Universal chews are easiest to digest and take, Cell-Tech is good but expensive, and Met-Rx's micronized creatine is a one-way ticket to flaming ass-pain. It's the worst creatine I have ever tried. EAS for the next cycle.
What happens is that about 5 days into the loading phase I begin to feel much 'harder', and I do not fatigue on the heavy sets nearly as quickly. It's kinda of a 70/30 effect, wherein if 100% is where you're at at the end of a cycle, when it's out of your system (to my experience, at least) you'll keep about 70% of what you actually gained. Great payoff, IMO.
oh i would also suggest loading 20g for 2 days. I don't weight to much you might need 25g. Many say the loading phase is just crap, what the company wants you to do to use more creatine. Many clinical studies back that claim up, but others do not, I have loaded twice on creatine and not loaded 2 other times. I think its better when you load
Personally, I would recommend the loading phase when using creatine. If you're using just pure creatine and mixing it with dextrose it won't cost you too much more and the pump you get from it is definitely worth the extra buck you'll spend. That first week especially you can really feel your strenght go up, but when i skipped the loading phase I didn't even notice a difference. Just do the 5-7 days of 20gms (split it into four 5gm doses) and you will be happy with your results.
