Breakfast Foods

Can anyone name some good breakfast foods that are high in protein, while being low in fat and carbs.

Anything besides eggs, as there is only so many eggs a person can eat.

WHat is there breakfast police???? Eat whatever the hell u like....sometimes I have chx and rice for breakfast and pancakes and eggs for dinner............no rules bro.........

Perfect breakfast:
1 protein shake
100g of oats doused in 30g of flax

That's 71g of carbs, 20g fiber, 68g protein, 38g of fat, 900 calories total.

How I start every day, consumed an hour before cardio.

what is 100g equiv. to in cups?

My perfect b-fast = 1 cup steel cut, 1/2 scoop whey mixed in w/ splenda a cinnamon.............12 egg whites, scrabbled with cheese...........mmmmmmmmmmmm

It is not for me, but for my fiance. I don't think she would want to eat chicken in the morning. I am looking for something moderate in protein, low in fat and carbs.

She is eating a bowl of oatmeal in the morning, but I was looking for something to add about 20g of protein in the morning.

Why would you want to eat something low in both carbs and fat???

This is a joke right? BEFORE CARDIO? Why bother? If you are trying to get cut, you're burning this huge ass shake instead of fat.

If you are bulking or maintaining, you're burning up nutrients that should go towards recovery/repair.

I eat sometimes before cardio....maybe 1.5 hours before, but still before.........just depends on when I fit the cardio in, bulking or cutting.......empty tank doesn't matter to me.....just like to do it first thing when I can for convienience purposes.............

She is already consuming carbs such as oatmeal, but needs something with protein to supplement along side it.

ground beef
turkey
chicken
pork
salmon
fish

in other parts of the world ( u being in the states) the idea of breakfast is not eggs bacon pancakes toast and juice

in asia a good amount of protien is eaten in the first meal of the day
when i was in kyoto my breakfast was grilled salmon, rice, cucumbers and edeame

i was raised on fried rice for breakfast ( my mum is part chinese and fried rice originated from stirfrying the leftovers from the previous night's dinner)

so try something new
who knows you might like it
and i am not suggesting for everyday

These are great protein sources and I also sometimes take them on breakfast

But be careful with your neighboors : they may not appreciate the fish smells at 7 am :D

Kippers for breakfast Guv'nor?

CALORIES
Oil rich fish such as Mackerel, sardines & herring have a calorific value of around 190 Kcal/791KJ per 100g.

FAT
The fat found in all fish is mainly of the unsaturated type. Oil rich fish can vary between 5% and 20% fat content, depending on the time of year. Oil rich fish are unique in supplying the special Omega-3 polyunsaturated fats that have been found so valuable for health. Unsaturated fats can help to reduce the cholesterol level in the blood, thus lowering the risk of heart disease. Kippers, (grilled) have 1.5g Omega-3 fatty acids per 100g.

VITAMINS
Oil rich fish are an important source of vitamins A & D. Vitamin A maintains healthy eyes, skin and hair. Vitamin D is needed to form strong bones and teeth.

MINERALS
Fish is a good source of calcium, needed for formation of bones and teeth. It is also a good source of iodine and flourine, which are needed for the body's growth and metabolism.

PROTEIN
Fish has good quality protein for body building and repair of tissues.
