Bodybuilding and methamphetamine

So I was just doing some googling and found out one of my favorite amateur bodybuilders hasn't been competing in the last years because he tested positive for methanphetamine anabolites.

Set aside my surprise of why are these guys even tested, I'm wondering why would a bodybuilder ever use meth? Does any of the stuff we're taking count as methamphetamine and I didn't now? I'm thinking something like clen or ephedrine?

If it's only for recreational use then this is soul crushing to me. I didn't even know meth was popular here in Europe.

They use it in cutting cycles for fat burning and extra training

Hard core drug and sex partiers I would imagine.

adderall is becoming a popular thing nowadays. not sure who started it or the history but its another example of our society and cutting corners. how bout getting a quality nights sleep and living a normal life

In addition to treatment of juveniles with ADHD, Adderall is sometimes prescribed for children who are not doing well in school but who don't have ADHD. These are often children from economically-deprived backgrounds for whom alternatives such as therapy or tutoring is not available.[42]
Adderall is widely used as a "study drug" at many universities,[43] due to Adderall's reported ability to help focus energy and concentration to a much higher level than normal.[citation needed] It enables the user to focus and stay awake. Stories of students writing papers continuously for an unusually long time or "cramming" all night for an exam with no loss of energy or concentration are common.[43] College campuses known to be highly competitive or have a high rate of binge drinking had up to 25% of students use an ADHD medication within one year, a survey of students at 119 colleges across the country concluded.[citation needed]
Adderall use as an academic advantage has become increasingly common amongst college students. Illegal Adderall use is highest among students from the northeastern region of the United States and students from colleges with more competitive admission standards.[44] Students with ADHD sell Adderall on college campuses for anywhere from $5 to $25 a pill depending on the time of the academic year.[45] The legal consequences for selling Adderall include prison time because it is classified as a controlled substance.[46] It is often difficult to catch illegal Adderall sales because the pills are “easily concealed, odorless, and can be perceived as prescribed drugs” Of these sales, 62% of buyers report using Adderall for concentration and study help.[47]

Many athletic organizations have restricted the usage of Adderall by athletes. The NCAA has banned the use of Adderall for its collegiate athletes without a prescription and adequate records of evaluation and diagnosis of ADHD.[48] Nevada State Athletic Commission has also banned athletes in the state from using Adderall. Tim Credeur was removed from a UFC fight on the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 7 because of a positive drug test due to his use of it. In the National Football League, New Orleans Saints kicker Garrett Hartley served a four-game suspension when the 2009 NFL regular season began because he tested positive for the banned stimulant. The Arizona Cardinals tight end Ben Patrick received a four-game suspension as a result of using Adderall.[49]
The New York Giants running back Andre Brown faced a four-game suspension for violating NFL's performance-enhancing substance ban. Brown said: “It was something that I've been on since I've been in the league, which was Adderall. I just forgot to fill out some paperwork and that was it.” [50] Brown eventually won an appeal, and had his suspension lifted.[51] Another Giants player, Tyler Sash, was suspended for four games by the NFL in July 2012 after testing positive for Adderall four months earlier. The safety said in a statement that he took the drug legally and "under a doctor's care for an anxiety condition" to help him with public speaking.[52]
The New York Giants safety Will Hill was charged a four-game suspension for violating NFL's performance-enhancing substance ban. Hill said: “"I received a doctor's prescription for Adderall prior to signing with the Giants.” [53]
Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib has been suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances. Talib released a statement saying his suspension was a result of testing positive for Adderall: "Around the beginning of training camp, I made a mistake by taking an Adderall pill without a prescription,".[54]
Philadelphia Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz has been suspended 25 games by Major League Baseball for testing positive for the drug, effective at the start of the 2013 season. In a statement, Ruiz said, "I am sincerely regretful for my mistake in taking a prohibited stimulant." [55]

Very bad idea in my opinion. Quick way to a lifetime addiction.

Hell ya adderal is stupid popular at my university . I have yet to try it but majority of freinds use it during the semester

I tried it for like 2 months, it did nothing for me. That drug is for 12 year old daydreamers!

He might be doing a cut with crank or otherwise just trying to boost training. He's joining the line up for an early heart attack if he is trying to lift hard on that crap.

Thanks for your answers, guys. I still think it has to be something other than Adderall because that drug is not popular at all here in Europe (or maybe that's just me being oblivious to something everyone is already using like usual).
It's probably something else but whatever it is, damn shame.

Hello to all,

Yea that is good and fine having the results for the beneficiary of the health, therefore it is better for us to take more knowledge and comprehensive detail for it.

@musclei: I'm in the UK, England; I presume you are too?

I finished university in 2008 and tbh I had to do a few "crammers" whereby I stupidly thought it would help my concentration. Okay, it did help for the first few hours after use, but when your body wants to sleep, and you can't because of the course work, and the fact you've used speed, your concentration wanes. All it does is keep you awake and alert. Your mind, however, is a tired, foggy haze, and results in no work done in ten hours or more. In the USA it is popular on campus, but not so here in the UK.

I thought, like you, that methamphetamine was pretty rare in the UK as well. I thought this right up until last week when I was conselling an ex-heroine addict. He told me that heroin is still a big problem in the Midlands area (Stoke-on-Trent, Burton on Trent, Staffordshire) but many new users are opting for the intense high of the meth instead. He says the availability of it is sporadic but in some parts of Staffordshire you could easily buy it on Christmas Day. Apparently, someone who's been on meth for a while has a distinct "haggard" look to them, and they're often missing some teeth.

It's definately a sad state of affairs if it becomes widespread in the UK. It's a different beast to heroin and opiates in general, because the high can last for days and it is highly addictive. There is also very little in the way of therapies, substitutes, or detoxes for users. It really can and likely will, ruin your life. I know the guys and gals on EF are very sensible in regard to what they do and use, but I urge anyone - if they're ever offered it - to consider their fitness goals. If they want to get trim or enjoy more intense workouts, then employ the knowledge and wisdom of the mods and experience offered on this forum. Like the OP said, it will make you lose fat, but it will also massively increase your risk of hear attack or stroke, plus you'll lose more teeth than you will fat.

I'm sure it will turn out as Adderell, again, like has already been said. Well, let's hope so anyway.

MDMA also pops hot for meth

That's what I was gonna say. What do you think the MA in MDMA stands for lol.

And I don't know much about Europe...but in the States, Meth is the biggest drug problem in the entire country except for the North-East [Heroin/opiates].

Yeah, meth is huge where I live in east Tennessee. But, pills are right up there with it (Roxy, oxy, morphine, subutex, suboxone, opana). I can get anything, anytime, I shit you not... but I can't find any juice lol.

Phentermine is a popular weight loss pill (prescription) and it is a lab made meth. If you diet is right you can shred bf in a few short weeks.
