I was wondering if anyone here has eaten at the Blue Door restaurant at the Delano hotel in Miami? I've read the reviews on other websites but I was just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with this place. Looking to take my girlfriend there....special occasion ya know :)

I heard some excellent reviews from friends who've been there, but haven't been there personally. But I often go to the Delano hotel Gym. It's one of the nicest gyms I've been to. You should check it out.

Great, thanks for the information, I wanted to be sure that it wasn't "all talk."

If I'm gonna spend the kind of money they want, I want it to be really worth it.

I've eaten there several times. The Delano is a scene and good if that's what you like and that's what will impress her. As far as caliber restaruant goes, the best in SoBe is Azul at the Mandarin hotel downtown and Casa Tua right in SoBe. All are about the same price. I would take her for dirnks at the Delano then off to one of the other two.

all of ian schrager's hotels have a pretty chill atmosphere and pretty decent restaurants as well.

I have eaten there a couple of times. My wife and I stayed at the Delano, loved it. Like George said the restaurant is pretty good, the scene is very good. The hotel in general is a pretty cool place to get some drinks at. The gym at the hotel is pretty good too.

We ate there during the day (on the patio) so the atmosphere wasn't what it would be at night, the lunch fare was ok.....I have had better. The Blue Sea has excellent Sushi, although it's much more casual. I have heard the dinner menu is decent, but no firsthand experience.... Azul is pretty good but I wouldn't say it's the best. You should try Joia..(Italian) and the food is suprisingly really good, plus the bar rocks. Bambu is really good if you like Thai....there are a few others I know I am forgetting........ :)

Well, I took my girl there last night and it was excellent! The entire atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for and most importantly, my girlfriend really really happy. Although I would like to go back there and try eating outside too, because we walked around out there and the view/garden was incredible. I especially liked the pool area.

Spellwin is on crack again. The best restaurant is the China Grill, get the duck and don't skip dessert.

Maybe also want to try Touch on Lincoln Rd.

He's right on the scene at the Delano though. :)
