Black Voters 'Afraid' of Electronic Voting Machines, Activist Says

gjohnson5 said:
Dude read your own numbers...

1994 = 37%
1990 = 39.2%
1986 = 43.2%

We haven't hit 60% on any of those numbers...

What about state and local elections? If you only vote once every 4 years your voice is barely heard.

I coulda swore I said presidential election years. That would make every time going back to 1980. Perhaps you should read my own numbers. Last time I checked > 50% qualified as a majority. Besides, there is a higher % of blacks registered to vote than Hispanics or Asians despite the fact that all the males are behind bars and/or convicted felons and not eligible anyway. Why single blacks out....young people don't vote either.

I re-read this post and had to cringe.

The idea of "black activitists" is a disease upon the black community.

Can you imagine if someone came out and said "Whites really are worried about these new voting changes...blahblahblah". They would be mocked, derided and ignored by all media.

The concept of one person speaking for all whites is ludicrous. it is equally silly for blacks. So when a moron like this woman does or tries to do that, immediately, idiotic media (most of them) jump on it and legitimize it.

This sort of stuff has to be harmful to blacks as a group in that it furthers prejudices that need to go away.

I don't think blacks are afraid of the machines. I do think many old people are a bit wary of them just because they aren't like they "used" to be.

I understand. I say if we are upset at how we get treated in politics and in the news (hispanics included) then we should show up for the polls like 75%. Not 39% We don't get anything if we only show up with 1/2 force much less 39 and 43 like those numbers were saying.

In my mind being registered to vote is only 1/2 the battle. Getting youself to the polls is a complete win. Kepping people out of jail. I think that's our job too but we don't do a good enough job of it.

i wish the 'black community' would kick out their so-called 'leaders' and pay no attention to groups like the NAACP and the monochrome coalition, since they are the primary root and cause for the majority of social problems they may be having.

Right afte we kick out your white leader George Dubya.

I'm actually afraid of black people

When I see one on the street I lock my car doors and turn up my gangsta rap and try not to make eye contact.
