I think a true feminist would only expect her to be treated equally to a man. In this case, equal treatment would be that she gets the same punishment for her crime as a man would have received. Thus, no complaints from the feminists here.
I have done criminal defense in the past, but not any violent charges (so I've never handled a capital case). I mainly did drug charges (lot's of meth manufacturing cases). Anyway, when you have a case that is heinous and the death penalty is on the table, though, you pray to god that the prosecutor will let the person plead to something so that they take the death penalty off the table. You usually don't want to go to trial on something so outrageous and shocking to the conscience as a case like this, if you can help it. Sometimes, though, your client refuses to take a plea and wants to roll the dice or the prosecutor has such an air-tight case that they refuse to give you any deals.
I don't think I ever want to do a capital case. That is too much stress for my taste.
